Mickey Mouse operation

"Trying to place an order for separate locations, with his usual poor service response he canceled the order because the corporate billing address is not the same address as the shop location. Maybe one day he'll grow up and be a big boy business."

They charge for items out of stock

"Ordered three items on the website, nothing to suggest anything was out of stock. They charged my CC. Two days later, they sent an email saying my order is delayed because one of the three things I ordered is not in stock. Then the next day, they sent an email saying "order shipped!" and with a USPS tracking number. On the USPS website this tracking number leads to "shipping label printed, USPS awaiting the item." Fine, I'll check the next day. Same thing. And the same for the next day, and the next, and the next and the next. Now it is 10 days after I ordered, one week after they said they shipped it, and it still hasn't shipped.

Considering disputing my CC charge with my bank. I hate companies that don't say when an item is out of stock, that charge you even when they don't ship the item, print a shipping label to pretend it has shipped when it has not, and then are impossible to contact. Order from Amazon instead.

Poor Customer Service

"I’ve sampled their products in the past as I am an avid auto enthusiast and OCD hobby detailer; however, after making a recent purchase on a buffer, I had second thoughts and decided it was not the one for me. After the buffer was delivered, I did not open the box at all. Since there was no contact phone number to speak to someone, I emailed them and got a response three days later. I found out that I am not able to return this item at all. I explained that the buffer was factory sealed and still in the delivery box; however, all buffers are considered Tools at Detailed Image and they are ALL SALES FINAL, which is ambiguous since polishers do not fall under the Tool category on the site. There was no mention of this on the product page nor the checkout, and at first glance on the Return Page, one would think this falls under the standard return policy, and not classify as a Tool since, again, this polisher was not found under the Tool section of the website. Either way, I hope this place gets punished for their lack of customer service, putting their short term profit, versus long term customer loyalty. They have lost a customer for life and I will be proactive to make sure no one does business with them."

Exceptional Value and Customer Service

"One of the great things I have discovered about Detailed Image is the fact that not only do you have a nice list of products, but there are how to guides and blog written by expert detailers that is really helpful. Using the available educational resources on their website has been a life savor for someone at times can feel nervous testing out new stuff on my car.


Also one specific issue that I had addressed was a product leaking, that in my opinion was not at all their fault. I emailed an inquiry about it and had a replacement rushed out to me. I was also encouraged to message in the future any issues with products or packaging stuff. You also have, I learned, the flexibility of choosing UPS or FedEx for shipping options.

Excellent products, service, information

"Ive been a Detailed Image customer for years. They have a great selection of the best and the latest products in the industry. I have always recieved my shipments quickly. The best part, and the reason I was drawn to them, is the weath of information on the best techniques and tricks to use what they sell. They publish an extensive blog with information on the latest products, and tutorials for all tasks related to automotive detailing. Their customer service has always always promptly addressed changes I needed for an order and I have never had an issue with a product."

Horrible Experience

"For Starters, they don't have a Yelp, Google or Facebook page that you can leave reviews. That's because they know they screw people over.

Customer service is non existent. There's no number to call. They won't even give you a number. They don't care.

I bought a Mytee Steam Cleaner and first use, it blew up; water shooting out the sides. They told me to contact the manufacturer. Manufacturer says contact the distributor. They are the distributor. The hell with them.

Furthermore, when I bought the $600 steam cleaner there was a sale. Free Shipping over $150, no exclusions. I had to pay $50 to ship it and they never refunded my money.

Run.

"Since 2008 I've ordered over $300 worth of supplies from Detailed Image, I honestly don't remember what their service was like in 2008, but in the last month my $250 or so worth of orders have been processed within a business day and arrived in approx 2-2.5 days total from the time of order (their warehouse is in NY and I live in CT) using their $5 shipping on orders over $50 and free shipping on orders over $150. Their prices are very competitive and they have a very good selection of products (I use Optimum, Meguiars, etc). These guys will be my primary supplier of detailing products for my mobile detailing business that I'm starting."

"Business ethics do not exist . Ordered Thursday night . They received order Friday and shipped that afternoon . Before ordering I asked about coupons or anything that would help me on cost . I was told there are none . I searched hard and finally got a 10 % off coupon from somewhere . My order was around $ 170.00 . Sunday night I get a promo email offering 25 % off everything . I emailed and let them know I was angry . They offered nothing other than to say in order to be fair to other customers , they could do nothing . THAT is crap . Hmmm . Guess all the stores that offer a 30 day guarantee on their prices are being unfair to everyone . They charge alot and do not care about the customers . I am done . My order has not yet arrived and they run this special and give me nothing ? You figure it out . Thank God there are other places that sell the same stuff , as my business is starting to kick into high gear . And , in order to be fair to all of my customers , I charge a low price on everything and do not pop up with promos out of the blue . If I did , I would have to honor a 30 day guarantee because it is the right thing to do . Instead , I cut prices as low as I can and go from there . Sounds like a disgruntled customer huh ? You got that right . And I have ordered from them before . A very small order years ago . They are low lifes and cannot be trusted . Money , money , money "

"I ordered about $90 worth of various detailing supplies from Detailed Image: some wax, clay bar, lubricant, wheel sealant, and a bunch of other minor things. I wanted to use two American Express gift cards I had, so I submitted two orders. To my surprise they automatically merged the two orders together without any interaction on my part, including shipping everything in one package. Everything was as described and the shipping was quick and not too expensive."
