"Literrally just nope. Dysentery would be preferable to working with this company."
"Literally thieves. Avoid this company like you would ebola."

"DEX MAN VAN COMPANY
How to start this with?
In a nutshell:
- Booking was for 3pm, they turned up 6:45pm
- Extra boxes promised on 4 calls before moving date were not provided
- Move finished at 1:30am
- Insurance certificate, marked van, forms, signatures, formality… Nothing was there leaving us completely scared this was a scam and had to follow the truck door to door. (70 mile away)
- Handling of some items, a wardrobe for instance not done carefully enough (given the time at 1am and circumstances). It got scratches and damage on the dismantle and assemble.
- The poor guys already completed tired had to be helped with by us. Given the time and the conditions we could not pay attention to all the items and where they should get to in the house meaning a lot of hassle afterwards to move stuff around.
Booking
Efficient booking done over the phone, few questions asked and quote provided.
This was done 2 weeks ahead of the moving date and included in the price.
-Boxes
-All handling
-Dissemble and assemble of as many items as needed
-Property details including location, access and floor level.
Boxes were delivered 7 days ahead of the moving day, however in an insufficient quantity.
They estimate what they think we would need and then keep saying more boxes would be delivered if needed.
Called them 4 times saying we needed more boxes, and the answer was always to don’t worry, we will bring on the day…
On the day
Booking was for the afternoon so they should be there at 3 o’clock at most.
At around 2pm I get a call saying they are delayed due to the morning job getting delayed. They should be due 4pm. Ok, let’s not worry.
- Called them 6 times at 4:25pm until I could get someone answering. Same guy as the booking and the extra boxes request. So he is clearly the owner and this is a home business.
He said he will call the driver and call me back. NO CALL BACK OR ANYTHING UNTIL 6:30pm
- Now just imagine we got no call back and no one answering the phone (over 15 calls from all numbers we had in hands. Booking, cell phones we were called from).
- Until we got a text from Driver at 6:30pm……… saying there were 15 mins away.
At that stage I thought we were not moving and had already called everyone including other man van services for the next morning, cancelled with friends helping us in the destination…
NOTE this move was from Reading to London……..
Second floor extra charge
They finally arrived at 6:45pm and first thing mentioned was.
Oh, we didn’t know this was a second floor property, we need to charge extra £75 per floor. Also if the house you are moving too
has 2 floors its another £75. £225 JUST THERE…
Got this past with some conversation and they stuck to the agreed price. NOT A FAVOUR AS THIS WAS INFORMED IN THE BOOKING…
THEN. NO EXTRA BOXES.
What do we do now, no extra boxes to pack loads of stuff still??...
Had over 20 supermarket sized bags…. Things falling off the bags and all that….
As a result.. Time we finished loading, using all the bags we could find… 9:30pm
2 hours drive to London chasing a bloody van in a motorway… Got there 11:30pm.
Consequences.
- The poor guys already completed tired had to be helped with by us. Given the time and the conditions, we could not spare the time to pay attention to all the items and where they should get to in the house meaning a lot of hassle afterwards to move stuff around.
- Don’t have a clue if I have all my stuff and if they are all in good shape.
- Handling of some items, a wardrobe for instance, the only piece that had to me dismantled, not done carefully enough and got bruises and some damage on the dismantle and assemble.
This is a £500 item. Where is my insurance now??
- Insurance certificate, marked van, forms, signatures, formality… Nothing was there leaving us completely scared this was a scam and
So, please think very carefully on what you are doing. As I heard from another company.. “I would do it for £450 at least, so good luck with that quote”…
We tried our luck, fooled by a good looking website and probably by fake reviews, and paid the price.
I can appreciate their day went wrong and they may have done some good service to other customers, but all I say is they are not a solid company, that can work-around an unplanned situation
and provide you the service you need and were expecting. So if you have a small move they should be able to help you at a competitive price. But if what you need is more important
and cannot go wrong, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.
At least, we are in our new home so thanks to the poor guys (the ones that get the hands dirty) which have nothing do to with this, are probably get paid peanuts (god knows what situation they are in this country and the needs they have to work for such a company, some of them don’t speak english) to work from 7am to 1:30am. I felt very sorry for them and gave them some extra cash for themselves to keep.
That’s it.
