"Frustrating experience ordering and returning a product to this company. I purchased a white ergo keyboard for my Mac and instead received a black PC keyboard. The part numbers are mostly different and it's not easy to confuse one for the other. When I finally got through to a live person on the phone after numerous attempts and few new 800 numbers to dial, the customer service rep said it would take 48 hour just to confirm they did send me the wrong keyboard and they'd have to go back to the stockroom security tapes to confirm. Considering I ordered the keyboard standard overnight because I needed it sooner rather than later, she was unable to expedite the return because of "their process."

Think twice about ordering a product from this company if you need it on time and right the first time. I ordered from DigitalHotBuy because they had the best deal, but in the end I'm spending more time and money fixing their error. I would not recommend DigitalHotBuy and will not order from them again.

"LIARS. They lie right to your face and never even blink. Stay far away from this company, they care nothing for their customers. I placed an order, and 2 days later received an e-mail saying that the item was out of stock and would never be restocked. However, the site clearly showed that the item was still in stock, just at triple the previous price. An experimental order at the new price went through with no problem. They were never out of stock, they LIED!!! If the previous price was a mistake, all they had to do was say so. Mistakes are understandable, but lying about them is unforgivable, and lying so poorly is just plain insulting. They thought I was so stupid I wouldn't find out? Worst of all, now this shady company has my personal info. For all I know they made the false listing just so people would give them their info to sell/steal. Who knows? A company that operates with this little integrity is capable of anything."

"Ordered a Tivo Series 3. Great price, quick same-day shipping (and very reasonable expedited shipping rates!). The Tivo arrived in its original box and has worked flawlessly.

The only comment I might make is that I didn't get an email to let me know the order had shipped. Checking the website confirmed the shipping and gave a FedEx tracking number, though.

"I ordered 10 UPS individual battery backups for the workstations as my company office. Their inventory stated clearly that they had 10 or more in stock so I placed my order. The very next day, I get an email from customer service stating that 4 of the batteries are in stock and that 6 will be shipped to me in 2 weeks. I agree and can deal with a little delay, no problem. I write them back 3 days later (on a Monday after a weekend) to make sure that they will not be adjusting my original invoice price for shipping as I don't want to pay 2 shipping costs and my credit card had already been billed and I wanted to let our accounting department know of our costs. They assure me via email 10 DAYS LATER (11/30/06) that my costs will not be modified. It took 10 days for them to reply which is just the start of what's about to go down....

I receive the 4 batteries on November 27th as it takes them 10 days to ship ground from NJ. Not a problem. I sit tight for 12 more days and write them on 12/11/06 to find out the status of my remaining 6 batteries and complain that I have been waiting over the 2 weeks that they said I needed to in order to get these. The response I get was shocking....

My order was apparently cancelled on 11/29/06 and no one bothered to notify me.... My response:

Whoa whoa whoa, hold on here. Why was I NEVER at any point notified of this? Here it is, December 12th and I am just now finding out about this?!?! We have NEVER received any kind of invoicing stating this. In fact, if you go to your website you will see us being charged the full amount of $423.67 and there is no other invoicing stating that that amount was not charged to our credit card! I need someone to call me immediately regarding this! This is unacceptable!

I receive no response. No phone call, no email, nothing. I then threaten to post on here, Pricegrabber and Pricewatch regarding my experience. Low and behold, I get a phone call within 20 minutes of my email! What a surprise! No one will talk to me until I make threats, but at least I got someone to call. I talk to a guy named Gordon that tells me that my credit card was not billed the full amount (which I check with my accounting dept to confirm, which is correct) but my order was cancelled and if I want to get the other 6 batteries that I need to place another order, call him back, tell him that invoice number and then they will give me those 6 batteries. On top of this, I come to find out that I was charged shipping on the original 4 batteries for a total of 10 batteries not just the 4 that were sent. I then write up telling them I will not be taking the other 6 batteries and would like a credit back to my account for $26.60 which was what I was overcharged for shipping. That was 5 days ago and it's been radio silent ever since.

I want my credit back and I want an electronic invoice stating this was done. As soon as this is finished, I will NEVER be buying from here again. Poor communication and inability to use technology. You guys had all the means to contact me to let me know of changes in my order, but chose to sit silent when I could have been finding another vendor. Now I have to wait to get this crap straight before ordering more from someone else. On top of this, we just had one of the worst wind storms on history here in the Seattle area and those batteries would have been put to good use.

Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and go with a company that can communicate and give you a decent price. It's not worth penny pinching if you get garbage service. Next step, BBB if these guys don't get me my credit!

2/16/07 Just to give an update on these clowns, they wouldn't even respond to the BBB on 2 attempts over a 6 week span. Couldn't even make a sour deal right, don't give this crooked company your money!

"TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Ordered iPod case. Was marked as sent next day and I was given FedEx tracking number. CREDIT CARD CHARGED.
12 days later (on 7 day delivery) - and still not arrived. Checked FedEx website and had been stuck for 8 days.
Emailed DigitalHotBuy customer service - received no reply.
Emailed FedEx 2 days later - apparently DHB "filed a claim".
HOWEVER my CREIDT CARD IS STILL DEBITED. DHB say they will not refund until FedEx investigation is complete - takes up 8 WEEKS!

"Purchased MS1013 laptop whitebook and hitachi traveldrive both at the BEST prices anywhere. Order placed thursday evening, aroung 530pm.

Order arrived Monday Morning, earlier than I expected. Items were packed very very well and Look to be in great shape.

Still waiting on parts from another store so have not begun the build process.

"I've indicated before that I work for a major computer retailer and at times customers need items that either we don't presently carry or are out of stock on. This is the first time I've deviated from using Newegg or ZipZoomFly and I'm happy to say that DigitalHotBuy came thru with great service got the Opteron 170 to me in time for my customers build and assisted me when requesting FedEx to deliver without signature due to a slight snowing that delay delivery. Would advise using a delivery other than FedEx ground. UPS delivered that day but FedEx ground just could get their packages delivered to all the customers. So this wa a FedEx ground issue not DigitalHotBuy! Would recommend this new supplier to any of my customers."

"A reliable online store with good prices and good customer service. I called them before I put my online order on a MSI-1013 barebone laptop. The Fedex shipping was really fast. Unfortunately the motherboard was found defective after more than 2 week's use and tests. I requested a RMA number for an exchange. They gave me a RMA number in less than 3 hours! The communications are good too. The customer service people are very responsive, answering each of my emails timely.
