"Purchase software (Ravenshield) from this merchant that was supposedly in stock. Placed a comment on my purchase order for them to notify me if it was out of stock, so that I may purchase it elsewhere.
Received an email confirming my purchase and it said should ship in 3 to 7 business days. After 7 calendar days, no follow up email from merchant, so I called and ask for status of my order and I was told it was out of stock. Oh surprise!!
I was told that it would be available for shipping, maybe that day, as they were currently restocking. Received email that night saying item shipped and received game 2 days later.
Overall, customer service was good, and it was pleasant to talk to someone rather than use email to work through my issue. I'm sure I'll look to use their services again, but I may try following up on my order sooner, or maybe in advance.

"Needed to get Partition Magic 8.0. Most sellers had it for $70. dirtcheap had the OEM version (no box minimal docs) for $28 and change including shipping. "First, I purchased Windows XP Home Edition OEM from dirt cheap software. When I did, I expected this version to include Service Pack 1 so I would not have to spend hours upon hours downloading the service pack on a 56K modem. It did not. When I first contacted customer service for the company, they told me that it 'should be included' in the version I was sold because all other copies they had in the back did include it. It did not. Next, when I explained that I had opened the package to find out if it included SP1, I was told that I could not return the product because it had been opened. The product had not been installed or activated but that didn't matter. The sticker that indicated SP1 was included was actually supposed to be affixed to the paper CD sleeve, which is inside the packaging. In other words, to find out whether SP1 is included, you have to acutally open the packaging. All this information was provided to me by their customer service department. They also informed me that they had just begun to receive Windows XP Home edition OEM including SP1 just this week. So in conclusion, buyer beware. Eventhough Service Pack 1 is 'free' if you download it, don't expect to get it with your purchase because their customer service says they might have the version 'without Service Pack 1' depending on which vendor they purchase it from. Again, buyer beware. You can't return it once it is open. You are outa luck. They did tell me they would download the Service Pack for me and burn it on a CD then send it to me in the mail. Of course that all takes time and you don't want to know how many emails I had to send, and how detailed I had to be to even get them to do that for me. Ask questions. Don't buy unless you are absolutely sure. And if you don't get an immediate confirmation of your order, send an email to the company, call them and confirm. When I made my online purchase, there was a problem with my 'virtual credit card' and a problem with my 'browser closing' too quickly, or something along those lines. I had to previously jump through hoops to even get this order charged, put together and shipped. They did make an effort to upgrade the shipping and that was about it. Of course, the excuse they had did not admit any guilt on their part, only excuses it seemed. Again, buyer beware. "
