Beware the fine print!

"We recently moved and Dish was not able to support getting us internet service quickly so I could continue my work from home arrangement. So we went with another provider. After 11 YEARS of faithful patronage at our old home, Dish still found it necessary to charge me a $100 disconnect fee! It was probably buried in the fine print of what we signed up for 11 years ago, but I surely don't remember that little gem.

We have had other complications too: Dish would not send us the box to ship their equipment back to our old address. Instead, they sent it to our new address. Which means we had to pack their equipment and put it on the moving truck (risking all kinds of damage) to get it to our new location to then ship it back to them. Apparently logic doesn't enter into their thought processes.

And when you call their Customer Service, be prepared for a LOAD of frustration. Their call centers are in what sounds like India if we can go by the accent. The language barrier is significant and they can only read from a script. Any special circumstance will not be able to be addressed.

I sure hope other satellite providers do it better.
