"I found Dom's online when I was searching for a tent for our family camping trip. I called their 1-800 number and a lady named Jennifer helped me find the Eureka Timberline 4 Tent. She assured me that the tent is easy to set up and durable. When she told me the great price, I decided to go ahead and get it. Also, she set me up with Thermarest mattresses that made for a comfy nights sleep for me, my husband and kids.
The customer service was very personal and helpful. It's nice to know that there are still stores who can help you find what you are looking for even online.
The tent and mattresses shipped the same day I ordered and arrived in a few days. The tent is just what we wanted and the mattresses really made it comfortable.

"I ordered a pair of Vibram Five Fingers KSO shoes from Dom's on 19 May 2010. I then was out of town for a few weeks, and was looking forward to having them in my mailbox when I returned on 7 June 2010.
They weren't.
So I then went through my old emails to find the order #, and phone # to make inquiries. It was then that I realized that on my invoice it said "Back-Ordered".
When I called, a gentleman answered and confirmed that yes, indeed it was back-ordered and hadn't arrived into their store yet.
I told him that it was not immediately obvious when I went through the checkout process that it was in fact back-ordered.
He replied that the site does not update in real time. Given that I received my invoice shortly after having placed the order it means that something certainly updates quickly.
In any case, I tried to be sympathetic and asked whether they would in this case throw in free shipping (a la Zappos or Amazon). He spoke with his manager. The answer was no.
This was a squandered opportunity - for the grand total of $8 they could have given a customer (me) an amazing experience, and I would be more likely to shop with them in the future.
Instead I have been given a terrible experience, and won't shop with them again. And the knock-on effect is that anyone who reads this review is likely to think twice as well.
All for $8. But it belies their attitude."
"I was looking for a new Surefire forend light. The item that I wanted has been released by Surefire, but it is not available through any online or local shop that I could find.
I emailed Dom's and had a reply within hours. Jennifer worked very diligently with me and arranged for a special order.
The item arrived 5 days later at a very reasonable price. I would say that Dom's, and Jennifer in particular, did an amazing job working with me on this order, and I have made several purchases there because of the extra attention to customer service.
By the way, I still have not heard back from the other local gun shop that I contacted about this issue. I won't mention the name, but many in the area will know without being named.
Update: Since my last review I have had the ability to purchase a special order firearm from Dom's. Matt was amazingly helpful and made the process as easy as possible.
