"In PA we have "competitive" utility choice where you can choose a supplier other than your local company, PECO in my case.
Like most of these alternative utility supply companies, they will raise your rates after your "fixed" program ends. In my case, my program ended in 2019 and now I am paying 136% more for gas than the local company PECO is charging. This went on for two winters costing me hundreds of extra dollars.
Nice way to treat a loyal customer.
Yes, it's my fault I didn't keep up on the status of my program but a 136% increase from what is available locally...no thanks. I'll never sign up for one of these outside companies again."
"I just moved into a new place and I switched the gas into my name. Well it turns out they had the wrong address in and turned my gas off. I call Monday since they was not open over the weekend to have them turn it back on. They unlocked it and told me I would have to turn it on outside. No problem. Well I can get it to turn with tool I'm using so I called them Tuesday to let them know I cant get it to turn outside and they said well ask your neighbor to help cause that's how we turn it on or buy a different tool. Not very happy!"

I signed with DES in July of 2017 and went through a lot of phone calls with my gas company to find why I was being charged more than twice of my usual bills every month. They said I am paying most of the bill to DES for the service they are providing me. I am getting exactly the same service as I have been through the last few years, but paying twice as much. I have paid over $600 of extra charge. Dominion Energy Solution is no where to be found, their phone is not even connected, but the payments are being made. I read that some people could actually contact them, I have a phone number that doesn’t even have a ring tune and sounds like it is engaged all the time. I am not sure what to do as I am stuck with a payment that I can’t even afford.

"I signed up with them for a year contract because it was a dollar cheaper after receiving a letter from them. There was not much explanation when I signed up but I was saving money! I called to cancel in Nov and was told to call back on the last day so I wouldn’t miss you on the 2.67. I called back on the Nov 30 and canceled with Savannah who thanked me and offered me a new contract I declined. I then received a bill from my gas company with a charge from them!!!! "Yes, without me knowing I found out a $400+ separate account, not in my name, was dropped into my 4-month-old account?
How a company can justify the next tenant is responsible for a previous account with that renter gone is beyond me. So without my knowledge or association, this bill cost me fees, interest costs, and a threatening door hanger that my family would lose their gas unless I paid for this guys bill. Shame. Terrible business model. Maybe, I will name the employee who helped me as the benefactor of my bill and dust my hands of my own responsibility?

"Be very careful doing business with Dominion Energy Solutions. They hide their cancellation fee (if any) in their terms and conditions and since there is a lot of info in there, it is easy to miss. They could just be upfront with it but rather choose to bury it in terms and conditions. It would be difficult for me to do business with this company!!!!
