"When you have a problem with DutchCrafters customer service expect to receive nothing. As they already have 100% of your money prior to shipping you the product you have absolutely no recourse. We ordered a total of 5 pieces over the last 3 years or so, and had no issues with 4 of them, but an obvious color issue with one. They hide behind the small print and have a printed "document" to cover every conceivable problem. In our case this was a cherry piece with a standard Amish stain color that we have throughout the house on other pieces, including one from them. Totally different color and woodgrain. The initial response from one of their reps was "yes, you definitely have a problem", followed a week later by "it looks like this is normal".
They told me again and again that the color will eventually change. Strange since every other piece of cherry we have has had zero color change (some in sunlight and some not). Also, we have a large amount of Amish built cabinetry in our house, and there has been zero color change after 6 years.
This piece from DutchCrafters has still had zero change in color, and looks nothing like cherry in either color or grain. They could have done the right thing and replaced it for a repeat customer like me. Now I am no longer a customer, ever.
You may want to source locally if possible so you can see the product prior to paying in full. Our local Amish store only takes a 25% deposit ,which leaves you with some negotiating power when something goes wrong. Buyer beware.
