"this is really annoying! this ebgame business is being very dishonest. Not to mention they always do trade-in for the used games to ripoff the gamers, but they resell these games and pretend they are new!!! I got my game PS2 from them, supposed to be brand new but it is not!!! the back of the DVD is full of scratches!!!! it is a used piece! they just seal it back and pretend that it is new!! this place is crazy!! I complaint and I got my refund, and I will never buy from them again! very dishonest and disappointing!"
"Purchased path of the shell at a very good price after Christmas. Delivered by USPS in very timely fashion. Received it on Jan 2nd. Very good experience."
"This is really ridiculous. It takes totally 23 days to have my order delivered. And the 'used game' I bought from them is an illegal copy, and pirate piece. They said that it will guarantee to work, and will come with no box and no instructions, and tried to make it sounds legitimate. However, it is not!! I complainted and no one bothers. extremely disappointed and ridiculous!"
"EBgames is a nice store and have a nice website, of course they'll pay pennies buying games from you and charge full price on new games, but hey- that's how they make their business. I'll recommend this store unless you can find a better deal somewhere else. Note that they use USPS for shipping. It's cheap but a little tough to get a delivery estimate, however it does get there in the end."
"I went to EB Games in Austin at 13000 N IH 35 Lot 2 to buy a copy of GTA: San Andreas. It was a sued copy packaged as NEW (paid $49.99 for it) and had a huge scratch on top of the disk. I have spent several thousand dollars at EB Games over the years, but I will never deal with them again. Totally fraudulent and totally unethical."
"This was my second time dealing with EB Games, and both times I recieved my order within the time expected, no hassles or flaws."
"I have ordered from EB Games nine times since 2003, some of them pre-purchase and some of them pre-played. I have also purchased from their store in the mall dozens of times before that. I have only received an unplayable product once, mailed it back and received a replacement that was playable. Shipping speed is amazing, I always use the cheapest shipping option and usually receive my packages within four days even though it's estimated at 5-10 days. EB usually has some excellent deals going on and as an edge card holder I can get excellent discounts on pre-played games."
"I really can't see why ebgames.com has such a score on resellerratings.com I have ordered from ebgames on three different occasions without complaints. The last order I recieved within 24 hours of submission with just standard shipping."
"Purchased two PC games from them online on Black Friday (11/26), because I wasn't sure if they'd be available in the physical store by the time I got up there. Used the saver shipping option, because I wasn't really in a hurry for my packages...Well, my games arrived safely to my home in Florida on 11/30, with several freebies included in my package....Sweet....
My decision to make this purchase at EBGames was strictly on price, due to a sale, but I was pleasantly surprised by their timely service. I honestly didn't check this forum before shopping with them online, because I frequent their physical stores and find them reliable, however, they can be pricey at times....
I will look for more sale prices at EBGames in the future..."
"I will never order online from EBgames again. Their physical store is fine but the online store is horrible.
I "preordered" the game over a week ago and it still hasnt come, granted its the slow shipper but they should give me other shipping companies as options.
Now the biggest thing that caused me to come here. Moments after making my order I started getting emails from some reward company. SO i went to the site to get them to stop and i find out they have all my personal information and the credit card number i used on EB. They were going to be charging me 9 dollars a month for some dumb service that just spams the heck out of you.
This has been a horrible experience for me.

"I preordered the Collectors Edition of Everquest 2 back in May. When EQ2 was released earlier this week and it was learned that all orders for the CE would be delayed, I added a copy of the normal edition of EQ2 to this order so I'd be able to play while I waited for the CE. In addition I had placed three more orders for the game for my siblings. All orders were marked for next day shipping.
Over the course of the week I had to call EBGames roughly 15 times to clear up the various issues that came up! NONE of the packages shipped till about 2 days after they were supposed to as there were various problems with address verification and such. Now, I understand that, it happens...but I had to clear them up MULTIPLE TIMES on all orders. Sometimes when I would call Customer Service, they would tell me everything was fine and that it would ship the next day...but then there were more problems. As it stands we have two copies of the game here, one of them is stuck in their warehouse, and my order with the Collectors Edition in it won't be delivered until Monday thanks to all the problems associated with it. Meanwhile my entire guild of which I am the assistant leader is playing and it's going to be a lot of work to catch up. The other packages, when they shipped, got here the same day they went out...but thanks to all the hassle, mine shipped just one day too late to have been delivered today. Wonderful.
So while the customer service team is friendly and most of them were quite helpful (a couple seemed to brush me off with very little info when I called), the number of problems I encountered with card verification (I have never had this trouble at any other retailer ever) were far too numerous. I heavily discourage ordering anything from this company if you need to have it fast...especially if you have a large order."
"After seeing the comments I was too sceptical about ordering from EB Games but anyways putting faith I ordered 4 XBOX games and and the XBOX Game Bundle on October 31. I choose for 2-3 day USPS shipping service. They took some time for verifying and charging my credit card, in that time I called Customer Services a few times, it was very good they patiently answered my questions. Eventually they shipped on Nov 2. I am a bit disappointed I couldnt get my package by the weekend but still I pre-ordered Halo 2 LE from them. I hope the USPS doesn't dissappoint me, and hopefully it comes this Monday Nov 8(I guess its time to study till then). Other than shipping everything else is great including customer service center. So EBGames I recommend you use other shipping services such as the FedEx Standard Overnight shipping as they deliver very fast(I ordered ATI TV WONDER USB 2.0 from techonweb.com (order # 227541) on Oct 29 and they delievered on Nov 1 and also their tracking services are great)though at a premium of about $30 but I willing to pay for that as my order is above $400. As I said other than shipping everthing is great and I will update this review on comments on packaging.
UPDATE: I got my package today morning 11/8/04. Packaging is just great, everthing was packed neatly. everything was safe. Great Job ebgames. I knew u guys are good thats why I preordered Halo 2 from u guys.(I got email confirming Halo2 as shipped) Thank you. Halo 2 has also come on 11/9/2004. Good work keep it up"
"I was a little skeptical about placing an order with EBGames after seeing all the bad reviews. But, they are the only reseller who is offering "Itha's Bow" as a bonus item when one preorders Guild Wars.
I placed my order this past Tuesday, 11/2. I am wanting it by this weekend, so I can participate in the beta preview. So, I tacked on a little extra money to get 2nd day air shipping. That night, I received an email from them saying the preorder package with the code to get into the beta was shipped. I thought, "Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Same day processing!" I thought they would surely get it to me by the weekend.
Well, I was wrong. I have yet to receive a tracking number nor the package from them. If it was shipped on Tuesday and I have 2nd day air shipping on it, there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be here by now. It should have actually been here yesterday at the latest. Since I have no tracking number or package, my best guess is that they just bold face lied to me in that email. I bet it's still sitting on the shelf in their warehouse.
Thankfully, I'm a Gamespot Complete member, and they are giving out free codes to this month's Guild Wars beta preview. This kind of calms my nerves since I'm still getting to participate despite their screw up.
My next course of action is to email them and ask what's up. If they give me that account fraud bs excuse that I've heard a few of you mention, I might blow my top.
UPDATE:
I recieved the package shortly after writing this review yesterday. Everything looks intact. The only real complaint I have is that it took three, maybe four days, depending on whether you count the day it was shipped, to get here.
Since the only problem was that they didn't uphold the two day air shipping, there is a slight chance I will order from them again

"Best online vendor for games. Best prices and selectioj. Never had an issue with them."
"I went to EB Games today and tried to sell them 4 games. One of them they would not except, but they couldent tell my why. Then they told me that if I wanted to get cash for my return they would have to take off 20% from the price. Also when I coulden't find a game, the staff was not helpfull at all."
