"I called Epson support to ask about the ink I needed for the Epson XP-7100 printer I bought. It requires a cartridge that's double in size of the regular cartridges. I didn't know what the order number was and I had already spent $25 on the wrong size even though it was labelled 410-XL. The guy was as ignorant as they come and insisted I buy the 410-XL. Ultimately, he hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a woman, who was just as ignorant and she too "disconnected" me. I called back a 3rd time only to get a guy who thought I needed to be walked through how to change the ink on my printer. When I said that wasn't the problem, he kept telling me to buy the cartridge labelled 410-XL. I finally went to Office Depot and the worker there was well aware of the Epson problems with ink cartridges and he directed me to the right one. The ONLY WAY that I could tell it was the right cartridge was by the picture because the part number was 410. I will never be calling Epson again and when this printer dies, I won't be going back for another Epson."
"Every Epson product I have ever bought has lasted a long time and is packed with features."
"Crappy service and policy. Ordered 2 ink catridges for my EPSON WF-2530. Opened one box and realized that the ink catridge did not fit. I didn't tamper or open the wrapper around the catridge. I called to return it within the stated 30 day policy window and as stated in an undamaged condition. However, when speaking to the customer service representation, he wouldn't authorize the return because the box was opened. He also informed me to pay for shipping and a tracking number for the other unopened box. EPSON would process the return for the unopened box in 1-2 weeks. So - I think this is my last EPSON printer. I don't want to support this company any more. "
"Ordered a refurbished Artisan 810 printer and it can in all scratched and gouged. After some arguing they agreed to replace it, the replacement had a some surface scratched that I could live with but the auto 2 sided printing would not would. They wanted to once again send another printer which i refused as acceptable. It took several phone calls, a go around with tech support and finally a battle with a supervisor to allow a refund. Their website states that all items have a 30 return policy for either replacement or refund. It did mention that refurbished units were not covered against scratches. They told me their refub units are not refundable period. What a joke they send you a piece of crap that they did not fix right and it is not refundable? I will never buy another Epson product because of this fiasco which is a shame as they used to have high quality item. I currently own 3 of their printers and a LED Photo scanner they make but they have now lost this customer forever due to lousy customer service at The Epson Store."
"Epson engages in fraudulent business practices. Ordered an ink combo pack online for my Artisan 700 at 12:30am. Realized later in the morning that I had made an error and the ink was for a different printer. There is no way to cancel order online so I called Epson in California 5 minutes after their opening at 6:05am (9:05 my time in Maryland). Was told I could not cancel order. When I objected I was told I could, in fact, modify the order by substituting different ink. I said the original ink I ordered seemed like a good deal for Artisan ink, but the price for the actual ink is much more than I wanted to pay. Then I was told by a supervisor that he could not modify anything once it was in the system. I will have to wait for the ink to arrive and then return it and be charged a restocking fee. Meanwhile I'm out $79 that I could use to buy ink from Amazon (which does allow you to cancel orders online with no questions asked). I'm selling my Artisanprinter on eBay and will go back to HP. Epson just isn't worth the trouble."
"Epson doesn't support their products and warrantee very well."
"Bought extra ink cartridges for new Epson Artisan printer direct through Epson. Best prices on the net (still pretty costly, please note), super-fast overnight shipment free, and appropriate e-mail notification. I will buy from them again.
UPDATE (a month later) The printer ate ink, not recommended, & I returned it to Amazon for refund, so I won't be buying ink from Epson again. But their service in actually selling me the extra ink that I burned through was good."
"I bought a box of Premium Bright White Paper online at Epson thinking it would be good for proofing. Previously I had used Epson's regular weight inkjet paper for my proofing, and it saved me a lot of money. I couldn't find this at Staples anymore though, so I went to Epson directly for it. The box says "Smooth, bright white, non-glare finish for crisp text and colorful images, plus brilliant two-sided printing". This was the closest I could find for the other paper, and since it was designed for inkjets, I bought it.
When I took it out of the box, it appeared to be plain copy paper, like you get for a few bucks at any office superstore or Walmart. It was neither smooth nor bright white. When I printed my images, they were neither brilliant nor crisp. And because of the high absorption and bleed through, I can't image using this for two-sided printing. So there was no true statement in their claim, other than "white".
No problem, I thought; there's a money back guarantee which states "If you are not fully satisfied with the output, Epson will refund the purchase price." Since I wasn't fully satisfied, nor even partially satisfied, I picked up the phone to get the refund.
The customer service rep on the phone refused, saying the paper was not defective, and that it was only supposed to be used for correspondence. I protested, and he gave me the number of the online store at Epson. I called them, and got the same runaround. That person wanted me to call the first number again. Then when she found out I had purchased using a coupon code from the class action suit over the ink cartridges, she said no refund or credit was due at all. I told her that the coupon was like money, and if I didn't buy this paper, I would have bought something else. What BS and poor customer service, not to mention false advertising and false guarantees.
DO NOT BUY this paper! You can get a ream for less than half the cost at any office superstore. There is NOTHING SPECIAL about it. It is simply cheap copy paper they are passing off as some kind of premium bright white.
When I tried to find an email address for customer support, I discovered that not only do they not have any emails listed on their website, but they don't even have a contact category for customer support."
"This is my 3rd order from the Epson Store. This was for a CX9400Fax all-in-one. Arrived in fine shape and when I wanted it. Works GREAT. Will continue to order from the Epson Store. In fact, theres an ink order on the way."
"Ordered an Epson Stylus CX3810 printer. Product was shipped very quickly. Website said two weeks to ship, but it was shipped next day. Purchased for an excellent price on a customer loyalty program. "
"I have bought two printers (the Stylus C80 and C82), various papers, and (repeatedly) ink cartridges. Ordering and delivery have been excellent. The printers have been fine performers, although the C80 died prematurely. I plan to continue dealing with this vendor and would certainly recommend it to others."
"Purchased a USB cable (for free with a coupon). Put the order through on a weekend, got it Tuesday. Packed perfectly, no hassles, no complaints. Will buy from them again"
"Ordered two cables from their clearance section - 1/4 the normal price. Shipped quick, arrived quick (8/7) for UPS ground. Each cable was shipped in a separate box about four times the needed size with air pillow packing! Very wasteful (the packing and shipping cost must easily be more than I paid for the whole order - $10. total w/ free shipping) - Epson must be rolling in dough... ;). Can't ask for more.

"The News in papers and TV in the Netherlands are telling us to not to buy EPSON printers, because the cartridges tell us they are empty long before they really are. But then again all printer companies have these kind of cartridges. So it doesn't really matter which kind you choose to buy. Just reset your cartridge chip and put it back in."
