"I was looking for a pair of binoculars with close focus, smaller and lighter than my Swarovski EL with which I could use for butterflies(Ranger 8x32 focus at 4 feet) and birds, for travel, cycling, backpacking, etc. Eagle optics offered the best product descriptions and specifications. The reviews were very helpful.
Another company I was looking at online had less description so I ended up calling a rep. She told me about a brand they offered which was rated excellent and the reviews on this site had good reviews. The same binoculars on Eagle were rated poorly.
I bought the Ranger 8x32, have had a one day experience with them and they are perfect for what I was looking for. Close focus for butterflies and clarity for birds. They don't let in as much light as the EL's but I wasn't looking to replace the EL's.
I received them quickly, I was very happy with Eagle's ease of purchase and service and would most definitely use them again.
I bought another pair of binoculars, a different brand, as a gift. I won't be able to review them."
