"I like buying the books from eBooks.com over Amazon Kindle Store. I feel like I'm stickin' it to "The Man" every time I am able to do so. It's also not a bad thing that I get a 5% discount from Capital One Shopping. Unfortunately, I was not able to purchase six books from eBooks.com today, but had to go to "The Man" because you don't have any of David Gibbins books. None. I am very interested in the Jack Howard series, which I think would be a great addition to your library. I do have more to read after these six...hint, hint, hint."
"Ebooks has a plethora of book selections from different genres which are interesting and stimulating."
"It works the way it supposed to, just a few clicks and you have the book on your drive/app. Especially appreciate that you can offer books that are hard to find anywhere else."
"Picking the titles I want is easy and the catalogue keep growing. It's my favorite site to buy those ebooks I'm most interested in.
The sign up and order processing are fast, efficient and reliable. All I want in an efficient storefront.
I heartily recommend it."
"I have now made several ebook purchases from this site, and I continue to be thankful for the hassle-free process and timely product access!"
"Real trouble free experience as always when buying from eBooks. My favourite online bookstore."
"This is a perfect ebook store -- much preferable to Kindle. The site is really simple. Search is easy. Prices excellent. And their customer service is second to none. And I'm glad to shop at a company to whom ethics is important."
"No "loyalty" club nonsense, no marketing email spam; just ebooks, fast and simple."
"Highly professional service with a good range of titles at prices that match Amazon. "
"I like this shop, bought 10+ books and its been without any problems."
"Ebooks.com is an excellent retailer of ebooks with a fairly good inventory. They are responsive to inquires and even managed to make a book available again that the publisher had "discontinued" due to formating. I reommend them to anyone looking to get away from the impersonal behemoths in the industry. Ebooks.com feels and acts like the wonderful local bookstores of old brought into the digital age :) "
"I've purchased several eBooks from eBooks.com and have never had a negative shopping experience. I generally read using the eBooks Reader app on Android, but have also used the eBooks.com online web app without experiencing any issues. I would agree with other reviewers that DRM is more than a minor annoyance, but this is an industry-wide problem and is not specific to eBooks.com."
"This was my first time with this company and it all went well. Great app for my android phone And the book's good too."
"I ordered a book from ebook and received it immediately. I wasn't really concerned about the DRM issue.
However, I went to look up a particular section of the book, I discovered that it was missing about 700 pages. (It is a Constitutional Law book for school.) The book I have literally ends mid word. If I didn't also have an older version of the book in hard copy, I would not have been able to complete my homework.
When I sent an email asking for the full ebook or a refund, the customer service representative stated there were pagination issues with all ebooks. I already was aware of that, and that kind of incomplete and insufficient customer service was enough to inspire me to write this review.
Customer Service is a lost art. When a person complains about an item, check the item before you write a response indicating that you think they are wrong about the product. Make sure you're the one that is not wrong. I then had to thoroughly explain how the book ends, what chapters are missing, etc., because "Megan" didn't bother to check the product before assuming I didn't know how to decipher the different pages. Rather than responding and apologizing, they promptly gave me a refund. I would have preferred the proper e-book, and I'm concerned that either their employees are not getting proper copies of their products, or perhaps they are doing so illegally.
Poor Product. Poor Customer Service. You can do better. Train your employees to do proper customer service and product checks before you respond to a customer. "
"I just bought and paid for a book on eBooks.com.
The book should now be my property and I should be able to do whatever I want with it. It should be on my computer as a @#$%ing PDF file that I can search through, copy-paste, print from, etc.
Instead, I'm only allowed to access the book either through Ebooks.com's crappy, cumbersome Online Reader, or I have to download the equally crappy and cumbersome Adobe Digital Editions so I can access the book on my computer IN RESTRICTED FORM even though I've just paid for the damn thing.
I hate Kindle and Adobe Digital Editions and all the "middleman software" that restricts your ability to use digital intellectual property THAT YOU LEGALLY OWN.
Ebooks.com should have a damn warning or disclaimer clearly visible on the product page before you purchase."
