"Two years ago I bought an expensive (US$1,000) scanner interface, along with a Dell D630 laptop with the necessary software on it from eobdtool.com. I was given no order number or receipt. Delivery took several weeks.
After 4 uses the computer stopped recognising the drive and the system wouldn’t boot. I contacted eobdtool and they said I needed a new drive, “Fine, send me a replacement and I’ll pay the postage” I said. No go. At the risk of sounding stupid, I let the seller talk me into buying a new drive with a later version of the software. I paid eobdtool.com US$200 to get out of trouble.
A year on, and after only 3 more uses, the second drive has died. To be honest, it looked like an old, used one when I first got it but I decided to live with it, as getting it took a long time. Instead of replacing it, eobdtool.com now wants another US$250 for another replacement.
Obviously I wasn't going to take this twice, so I looked around and found that $250 is way higher than the going rate. I just bought a replacement drive from eobdtool.com's competitor for $89.95.
I am posting this to draw attention to this company."
