"This was the only store online selling the discontinued Palm Zire 72 new - the other stores and eBay just had open box, refurbished or used. So I called them up to see if they had them in stock, if they were really new, etc, and they said yes, so I decided to give them a try and place the order. After a few minutes of them trying to sell me extra batteries, cases, power packs, warranties and all the usual stuff, I politely declined and just said I wanted the Palm and nothing else. In the 10 seconds that the call continued, he told me shipping would be $20 and it would arrive in about a week, and that was that. I realised that I had forgotten to ask for an order number, so I called back later in the day, to be told that it wouldn't be in their system yet since it was on a big pile to be processed that evening......so I started to get worried.
I called back the next day to find out my order number, and see if they knew when it would ship, but the "sales" number apparently didn't have access to orders already placed, and the "customer service" extension was just an answerphone message, saying their hours were 10am-1pm! Can't get many customers serviced in that time, so I thought that was another bad sign. I tried calling again a few times later and never got through to anyone at all useful. After a couple of weeks, I was all ready to call my credit card company and cancel the transaction, when a package arrived at my door containing the Palm! It wasn't in a retail package (the contents were just packed in the shipping carton), but it was new and everything I needed was there, so that didn't really matter.
So it was a bit of an unnerving experience, but I got what I wanted in the end!"
