"THIS IS A SCAM!!!! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS ELECTRAGE WEBSITE!!!!"

"A blatant scam, here's some of the evidence I have gathered...

1) My checkout was done in Australian Dollars AU$ (there's a currency converter built in to the site like Amazon) - invoice total was stated as $837 but not explicitly stated as AU$
2) I inquired as to what currency they actually billed in, Electrage replied it would be in New Zealand NZ$ - I would be charged NZ$837 (unfortunately this does not account for exchange rate, NZ$ would in fact be much higher than $837, around NZ$1068
3) Electrage then emailed again saying they could not accept my credit card because; a) my delivery address was different from my
shipping address & b) my credit card was on a "chargeback database" & I would have to wire transfer US$837 to their NZ bank account to complete the sale (yes, American dollars now) - I declined
4) There's no phone number on the Electrage web site
5) The Electrage head office address listed in NZ turns out to be in the Goldfields Shopping Centre, as mentioned previously. There's no office or unit number listed on the Electrage site. The Goldfields webpage mentions no such company

6) Electrage responded to my emails starting at around 1:30am New Zealand time - which would place the "customer service" person not in NZ but somewhere closer to North or South America assuming they begin their daily defrauding at 0900 start time
7) Out of curiosity I offered to have a friend living in New Zealand pay in cash at their head office, I naturally asked for a unit number - Electrage has not replied - funny that

I have reported Electrage to Mastercard & the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) which in turn will forward the matter on to the Australian Police & Interpol. The perpetrators should be expecting to be arrested shortly, & if they're not, they bloody well should be.

If you, the consumer, choose to ignore everything I have just written here & still place an order just make sure you stick with your credit card as the method of payment - you'll have absolutely NO security any other way. In fact you may well wire me your money instead. I wont send you any product in the mail & wont give your money back but at least I'm telling you up front! :-)"

"Very eloquent scam. Fake reviews on Amazon, Cnet.com and a whole fake profile on merchant circle, including bogus address and phone in USA. BTW, their address in New Zealand is inside Goldfields Shopping Center - I looked it up justlike someone here on Google maps. If you look at a store list - you will see the reference to their management office, if you click on it it will lead you to their webpage: www.goldfieldsshops.co.nz. On their site you will find all the same stores that are listed on google maps. Thir phone number is: (07) 867 9200. They never heard of Electrage or Semper electronics (of course!). I would be very intersted, if you guys can find someone in New Zealand and call on their COD bluff :)
