"Being an avid online shopper, I gave this company a chance... should have I not? Probably.
First, I ordered a projector at an amazing price. Why was it amazing? Because the bulb was NOT included in the price; which they DO NOT tell you. Bringing the total price to more than what others were offering.
Secondly, they advertise a cheap "free ceiling mount" that I'm STILL waiting on (since Nov. 17th) and it's Dec. 2nd, with NOTHING in the mail. Why? Because there was a "back order" that apparently was not there A WEEK AGO WHEN MY PACKAGE WAS IN TRANSIT. Last time I checked, this is called LYING. "Google" it if you don't trust me.
Now, I'm being told I will receive the mount by Dec. 8th, resulting in two situations to reach conflict.
By the way, the gentleman on the phone told me to get over it because the mount was free... I got over it all right... very explicitly got over it.
Stay away from this two-bit, shady company. I will never order from this site again. Considering to return my purchase entirely at this point.
P.S. Same guy always answers the phone, same guy called me customer service, same guy called me to tell me "I forget to buy the bulb"... to hell with this company. You can blame my anger for any grammar errors or typos. Good day.

"These people are crooks. I ordered an Optima projector from the at a great price with free shipping. When the product did not ship I knew the call was coming. These were the same crooks who called me last year (possibly under a different name)told me that I needed an upgraded bulb because it only came with a 200 hour bulb. This time he pushed a warranty and when I said no he lowered the warranty price. When I still said no he told me my total price, which was more than the sale price because I had to purchase shipping insurance for the free shipping they offered. I then canceled the order which is exactly what they want you to do if you don't hand them more money. Their favorite line is to tell you about all the other people who gladly paid for the bogus charges. They will answer for their deeds eventually. May God have mercy on them."
"Let me begin by stating that we are an e-commerce merchant and have been since 1996. The reason we’re posting here is because we have had numerous clients who ask us to price match “deals” from Electrocloseout.com and similar websites - some of our customers even get offended when we decline to match pricing for them. Folks, we know that pricing is important and everyone likes to get a good deal but if the rock bottom lowest price is all you choose to focus on, then you’re just setting yourself up as legitimate prey for unscrupulous e-commerce merchants. We would have thought that most of what we have to say would be simple common knowledge but judging from some of the customer reviews below, some basic rules seem to merit repeating. Here are a number of clues that should sound the alarm for internet shoppers that an e-commerce website is more than likely a scam operation.
1) When a website shows no fixed business address in their “contacts” section it means that the merchant does not want to be physically located, chances are that such websites are “boiler room” operations or a couple of guys working out of their garage. Probably not the type of people you want to be handing over your credit card information to.
2) When any e-commerce merchant phones you, after you have ordered, trying to upgrade you to higher cost products, increase the price of an item you purchased, hi-pressure you into buying extended warranties and the like, chances are you’ve just done business with a “Bait and Switch” operation. Legitimate on-line resellers will email (NOT phone you) if there is an issue (so there’s no pressure for an immediate decision) offering multiple reply choices to resolve the issue and one of those choices should always allow the customer to cancel their order without penalty.
3) When you read 15 Customer Reviews that all pretty much trash an e-commerce merchant, as is the case here, then see 1 that can’t praise that same merchant enough, you can bet your last dollar that the 1 was written by the merchant himself or one of his flunkeys.
4) If the price looks too good to be true, it probably is. When you see an unknown e-commerce merchant offering the identical item for $300 that an established e-commerce merchant offers at $450.00, you need to start asking a lot of questions before you commit to purchase. Ask your questions by email and retain the answers. Remember if it comes down to “I said/they said” even your credit card issuer may not be able to settle a dispute in your favour.
5) Blog, blog, blog! No, the legal system won’t come to your rescue, you must protect yourself. When you encounter a scam operation, blog to let everyone know – it also helps to identify yourself with an email point of contact – it gives your blog web creds – without a point of contact, it’s often taken as just another buyer’s remorse vent. The reverse is also true. When you have had a great on-line experience the world deserves to know about that e-commerce merchant also! Blog, blog, blog.

"DAVE FROM THIS COMPANY GAVE ME EXCELLENT SERVICE AND GREAT PRICES!!
I BOUGHT A HIGH END PROJECTOR, WHICH IS SELLING IN NYC FOR $2,300 ($3,500 MSRP) FOR $1,889. HE ALSO UPGRADED THE MANUFACTURERS 1,000 HOUR LAMP TO A 4,000 LAMP FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE...HE LOWERED THE EXTENDED WARANTY PROTECTION, BECAUSE I AM A LUXURY CUSTOM HOME THEATER DESIGNER / INSTALLER. HE SAVED ME QUITE A BIT.THE SCREEN AND OTHER ACCESORIES WERE LOWER THAN ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE EAST COAST...CAL HIM, TELL HIM LEE TELEVISION RECOMMENDED HIM"
"i placed an order with ElectroCloseOut.com for an optoma GT700. the next day they called me to advise me that the GT700 was discontinued by the manufacturer which might be true, instead they offered me the GT720 the latest model for $609 + tax. first they told me the total was $713.00 then the total actually was $775.00. i called them and they told me that they were making adjustments to the bill (right!). then they told me the item was gonna ship out. that was BS. then i called them for a tracking # because they dont send emails to follow up with your order and they told me the item was shipped but no tracking #. great!. i told them that i was gonna verify with Optoma if my item was original or not and not refurbished. then they told me quote " ok i will cancel your order if you dont want it, ok" so i did. these people should get sue or reported to authorities. why are these people allowed to do busisness online?"
"What can I saw that hasn't already been said? As soon as they contacted me after my online order for 4 LCD projectors and told me the "bulb is extra" story, I told them I would have to decide and call them back as the price with the bulb was over my budget. I then checked with the specs online at Optoma and saw that the bulb was included. I also saw where Electrocloseout.com is NOT an authorized dealer. I then read their reviews at this website and sent them an email to cancel my order and to not charge my credit card. When I followed up with them, I saw that they were closed for the Jewish holydays. I hope they were in temple asking for forgiveness for thier sins against their prospective customers!"
"I also failed to get a review prior to placing my order. My experience is exactly the same. They tried the bait and switch of claiming the project did not come with a bulb. I promptly cancelled the order and decide to warn others."
"I wish I had checked the reviews for this company before placing our order. Reading the reviews, I observed many of the same issues. First, we ordered four projectors on a Friday, paying overnight delivery. Then, I received an email asking me to call them on the following Monday. They tell me I need to pay for the bulbs separately. Amazing! Again, read the other reviews. We elect to pay for the bulbs. They tell me that I'll have a tracking number emailed to me. After not receiving the tracking number and them not charging our card, I call them to check on the order. I was assured that the items were being shipped and I would have them by Wednesday or Thursday as they have the projectors shipped directly from Optoma and they have a 24-hour turn around time. After not receiving the projectors, I tried calling them (multiple times, one hold time was 17 minutes before I hung up, the other was 15 minutes when I was cut off, and another for 5 minutes). I then looked online to see that they were closed for four days. So, I had to wait through the weekend to check on the order. At this point they still hadn't run the card. When I finally get someone to answer the phone, he said he couldn't check into it as their computer had crashed and would call me back in 30 minutes. I called after an hour and a half. He had forgotten to check. He blames the delay on an Optoma mistake. Then he verifies he can ship. He transfers me to someone else and then they tell me we have to pay extra for the next-day delivery. When we asked for something in writing about the delivery date, again, they refused. We asked for the order to be canceled. They did credit our card back; however, the guy ends the call with, "Thank you for wasting my time." Worst customer service ever!"
"I did not buy the order from electroclose.com because I came acorss the similar claims made by other buyers..i wanted to by optooma HD 20 and I talked to the custoemr service they said it does not come with the bulb, i find it funny but I was ready to buy untill I came across this site. it really helped to me make my purchase decision. I end up buying my product from Amazon ..they charged me a higher price then electroclose.com but it is a peace of mind that matters. I will recomend others to not buy anything from electroclose.com. "
"This site is a scam.It is the same co. that in NY was illegal and fraudulent business practices that scammed consumers nationwide. It relocated in Miami Fla.But when they call me back about the blub that was not included.the phone number say it was in NY.It make me to beleive it the same people that was fine by attorney general cuomo in NY. They just relocated. and do the same scam to other people from diferent states."
"As others, found this website looking for an Optoma HD20 projector. They had a great price, $864, so I placed the order. The next day I got a call saying projector did not come with a bulb. This was really funny, and since I was not at my house to check the website, which they say has the verbiage on this(it does not, by the way), I decided to cancel. The guy on the other end did not want to cancel the order and finally gave in to a price of $910 for a 4000hr bulb. When I got back home I contacted Optoma about this and reached their GM to validate this issue as ElectroCloseout said the bulb was to be installed by Optoma themselves. What I found out, which is what I figured, is that their are no projectors sold without bulbs--they come already pre-installed. I then found this website to see others that encountered the same problem. All this, and the fact that they are not returning my calls or emails, I contacted AMEX and had them cancel the charge. I also forwarded them all correspondence from Optoma, this site, and the two invoices with the two different prices.
To others reading this review.....STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !!!!!!!!"
"I bought a projector Optoma HD20 on their website, next day I get an email to contact them. When I called them back, they mention that the price we charged you was only for projector with no Lamp!!!
No where in the order did they mention about the Lamp missing. Do not trust this guys!!
"
"Don't touch these losers. They called after I placed the order to ask that it be "reconfirmed." Then, when I tried to ask a question, the jerk told me not to interrupt him. I called him an ass and told him to just ship the projector and hung up. He called me back to tell me that the order had been cancelled, and to have a nice day. I was so weirded out that I called and had my credit card reissued with a new number. Even though their prices are low, don't do it. A WHOIS search resulted in a guy in Chicago, but I was told they were based in Miami. Another told me they were in Orlando! Ugh!"
"I found a projector I wanted to the house for my kids to watch movies on. It was the Vivitek D508, it was almost the cheapest on the net, but also came with a free ceiling mount and free shipping so I bought it. After not seeing the free mount on my invoice, I called and asked them about it. They said it was included in the deal but wanted to know if I wanted to upgrade the Bulb to a 4,000 hr. bulb as it only came with a 500 hour bulb. At first I said no but then he started getting rude and said if I did not get one now, it would be over $200.00 later. So I did. After looking on several other websites, theirs all came with a 4,000 hr bulb. So I called back and asked him why, he was angry that I asked and said he would take $15.00 off for my inconvenience. I said just cancle the upgraded bulb as the box should have a factory seal and i would be able to tell if they got in and switched it. I am really scared that I will get a tossed around tampered with Projector. If I do, I will send back and dispute the charges. I cant beleive they got so angry with me, I guess they dont like repeat business cause Know I wont be back. "
"I purchased an Optoma HD20 for $848 (cheapest price on the internet). After not receiving any shipping confirmation from them in a week I called and was informed my HD20 did not come with a bulb and for $99 I could add a bulb. I paid and received my purchase. Their site NEVER mentions the HD20 needs a bulb. This is a bait & switch and I am really mad. I do not know what else to do except to warn others about this practice. "
