"What a scam. Agent called under guise of confirming CC info then tried to add extended warranty by slight of hand. I did not bite and he got rude. They cancelled my order 2 days later."
"Scam artist I can not believe a company that has so many complaints is still operating in New York. They should have been shut down along time ago. Please report this compamy to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General if your were RPed off like I was."
"They promise satsfaction guaranteed, what they mean is customer rip-off guaranteed. They lied to me regarding an unused return that there would be no charge for restocking since shipment was delayed by them and the camera didn't arrive until after Christmas. Guess what restocking charge of 20% on $150.00 lost. DONOT do business with them!!!"
"I recently bought a DSLR from Electrobrands. They seem okay at first. But as I read more and more reviews, it seems I was taken. I was only hoping to get my camera and still not be ripped off out of $500.00. There is only one guy there, it's a one man operation from "somewhere" in NY. He processes your money really fast I think to order older orders that are on hold. Some of those orders are weeks behind. When he called back to UPSELL my order for accessories such as batteries and other stuff, I simply said yes just to have him stop hounding me. I bought another long life battery which I found elsewhere for only $15.00 but he sold me one for $55.00. He promised that he would upgrade my order for free to expedite delivery. That was 4 weeks ago. It is just now finally leaving the "warehouse" which is actually only another company in which he orders the product from. You get a completely different order status from another different company. This is no different than you and I robbing Peter to pay Paul. I would caution anyone who is looking to buy from Electrobrands. The reviews on all the sites are from the same group of people. You will clearly see a distinct difference in reviews. There will be only two groups: 5 stars and 1 stars. 5 stars are his people, himself and other characters he is registering to make positive reviews, while the 1 stars are actually real customers like you and me. I would not buy again. They lure you in with cheap prices only to upsell your order so it's just easier to buy from Amazon trusted vendor who you know will give you proper service."
"Beware. DO NOT buy from these people. I believe they have cheated me on everything they did and said. See other reviews. In addition to all the things listed (reburished camera sold as new; battery pack listed on invoice as lithium ion and actual batteries that came in package were nickel metal hydride; ones they sent would not take full charge; salesman said that if I bought their warranty I could take the camera to any large electronics store if it needed repair-FALSE. I wonder if the warranty they sold me sold is any good. I got authorization for return and I sent the batteries and charger back on 10/20/10 and they received them on 10/22/10 and so far haven't received any credit."
"The worst company I've ever dealt with. I ordered a camera a week before Christmas with free 2 day Fedex shipping. They did the call me for my 3 digit card number and tried to sell me stuff I didn't need. Luckily I said no. Didn't get it till after Christmas. It was supposed to be brand new. Didn't come with a warranty card or software. The speaker broke within the week. I call and got the RA# to send it back to them for an exchange. Sent it back and called a week later to see when to expect the replacement. They told me they were working on my camera and wouldn't replace unless they couldn't fix it. I said no way because mine was new a "replacement" needed to be new with the original warranty. They said I couldn't have my money back. I called back and they said I'd be getting a new camera and it was being shipped that day. Never got a tracking number. Called back and they said it hadn't really shipped it was on backorder. Called again when they said it would be in and was told Fedex wasn't shipping due to weather. They were. Called again and was finally told I could get a refund but it would take a week because my exchange had already shipped and they had to wait to get it back. They of course never shipped anything. Called today and was told the manager just got back in town and my card would be credited in a few days. Going to my bank tomorrow now that I see from the other reviews that I can fight it. I have never got an email back and they are completely rude and stupid on the phone. I hope nobody else gets screwed like I did. By the way I found my product on bizrate. They are no longer affiliated with electrobrands."
"I bought GPS through this company. It is probably refurbished , not a new,(Sales person Stanley).
They sell fake warranty plus when they promissed send cases, it will be life time waiting "backorder". The company is total scam."
"These people are assholes. Seriously. I ordered an Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 from them and it was listed as new. I got it and it was refurbished with scratches. I tried to call and they would not answer. I tried to email and they ignored me. Their website clearly says that you need an "RA#" in order for them to accept the return. So I refused to send it back since they would not give me the RA#. I am not taking a chance on being out my money and out the camera too! Also when I first ordered they called and were extremely rude, so I tried to cancel, but they ignored me and sent it anyway.
Anyway HERE IS WHAT YOU DO. File a dispute on the original amount that you paid on your credit card with your credit company. Then call your credit card company and ask for a new credit card number because you suspect fraud. Yes this is a pain in the ass but so worth it because they will no longer have your #'s. Your company will win the dispute and credit you back the full amount you paid. Mine did, and ElectroBrands had 45 days to rebill, but because I have changed my number, they cant! Scam the bastard scammers!
Then go and file a complaint on BetterBusinessBureau.com and to help others figure out that they're assholes before they get in the same mess as us.
Then lastly, file a complaint with the attorney general. This will stop them in their tracks. Also it will help get them shut down and possibly arrested if enough of us take the correct steps.
I have done all of this, gotten my money back, kept the camera, not paid a "dispute fee", or a return stocking fee, and came out the winner in the end. But I want to see other people win over these scamming fuckers!"
"Crooks!!
They sold me a 'fake' warranty. I am now out $100 because of their fraud. "
"These people are doing the same thing. When ordering from their website they don't have any field to type in the 4-digit security code of your credit card. Then they call you telling you you forgot to type in that code -- AND THEN TRY SELLING YOU EXTRA STUFF. Problem is -- they lie to you, telling you things which are untrue about the product you ordered:
"The camera charger fits only American voltage. If you plan taking it abroad you need our special multi-voltage charger. I'll also give you an extra battery, 'cause the original one is very weak. And I'll throw in our special extended warranty, 5 years for the price of 3. I have a special price for you only today, $155" ------ total lie, the original charger IS a 110-240 volt charger. The original battery got some really great reviews about how long it lasts, and their extended warranty got some really bad feedback from the few who needed to use it....
Why are there so many enthusiastic, 5-star, super rave reviews about this vendor (incl. on Amazon) --- I will let the reader make a guess..."
"Buyers beware. I ordered a canon camera the price was decent and they offered free shipping. The next day they sent an email saying the needed me to call for a billing problem i called and they told me they needed the three digit code on the back of my card and they proceeded to ask me what kind of battery i wanted. I said i wanted the 5 hour. After realizing that they charged me 69.99 for it and that i didn't need it i called them about an hour later to tell them i didn't want it they told me they would take care of it. I called the next morning to comfirm it and they told me the thing already shipped so they told me to call and get an RA# to return it. I called and they told me i had to email them for the number so i did. they emailed back saying that this item could not be returned. i called the next day and they refused to let me talk to a manager i told them to just send me an ra# for the whole order and they still haven't sent me one. my bank told me to send it back and they would take care of it. Lesson learned. I did end up finding the same camera for 30.00 less at Best Buy and I found the battery for 15.00. These guys need to be black balled "
"On 12/08/10I ordered a camera from these people as a Christmas gift for my wife. They offered free shipping on their site.On 12/09/10 I contacted their office to make sure the transaction was completed, my card was billed for the amount of purchase, and I was told to expect delivery by midweek the following week. I was told that they would send a tracking number but they never did. I called on 12/13 and was told that the item shipped that morning that I would have a tracking number that evening. Still no tracking number on 12-14 I called and was told it would ship that afternoon and get a tracking number that evening.12-15 I was again told the same thing. 12-16 I called and was told it would ship that day and I told them to cancel my order. Man on phone told me I was a cheap a** for expecting delivery and bothering them every day. I only expect a merchant to do what they tell me they are going to do.On one occasion they told me the item had shipped that morning and it had not. On three seperate occasions they promised a tracking number that evening and produced none after telling me three days prior it had shipped.I canceled my order on 12/16/10 and they said they would refund my money, we will see how this works out. "
"ElectroBrands.com aka Electro Brands. Buyer Beware these guys are crooks, I had agreed to a brand new Camera in the original manufactures with full factory warranty but instead received a refurbished one with no factory warranty. I was also upsold an Ultimate accessory kit for $110.00 that was supposed to be valued at $415.00. All I received was a
2GB card, the wrong camera case and an after market warranty. I called the company and was given excuses and a run around. Follow up calls resulted in further frustration with rude sales people. On my last call I ask to speak with a manager and denied. I asked for a full refund. I was given an authorization number to return the camera and told it would be reviewed for a refund but subject to restocking fees. I returned the camera and opened a claim with my credit card company. My account was credited by my bank. Now almost a month later Eletrobrands has still not issued a refund. Hope the bank gets them good...."
"I must admit I was a bit skeptical prior to ordering but I am extremely happy with the transaction. The price was excellent, the best I could find. The delivery was fast and the shipping was free. No complaints at all... "
"Electrobrands - liars and thieves??? I was talked into buying a $20 spare battery for a camera...but came as $69.99 one. I checked on Amazon - it runs $5 to $8. After complaining, I was told it was "a discount merchandise" and "no refund". No discount merchandise nor batteries on their site. When complained to my credit card, their response was I didn't call within 10 days(as stated in policy). Well, I have UPS delivery copy - it took 15 days to deliver it. Hard to call faster than speed of light. I still have that battery in original, heat-sealed package, never used, ready to send back...l. Will write Attorney General of NY. What a rip-off.
A little extra insult, just noticed recently - original price on Canon SD940 camera was $219....when arrived, invoice read $229 (plus $69.99 instead of $20 battery). "
