"I purchased a digital camera from electronic palace. This purchase was made on newegg.com. The new camera would not work within 5 minutes of turning on. I had to bear the expense of returning the item to electronic palace. Did i want to pay for the return ? NO I just wanted a new camera! Now i have to spend my time, energy and efforts in finding another camera. DO NOT SHOP FROM ELECTRONIC PALACE! FRAUD"
"The item was defective upon delivery. At that time, I realized that Electronic Palace, one Rakuten.com’s affiliates, had actually fulfilled the order. As such, I had to return the item to Electronic Palace for a refund. I contacted Electronic Palace for RMA instructions and shipped the item back to them at my own expense. I had to call them a week after they recieved the product to remind them to refund me. They refused to refund the return shipping costs ($19.70) for a product they admitt was not working properly. Rakuten would not refund me the shipping charges either."
"This seller is awful, will NEVER use again! Ordered items listed as NEW on Sunday afternoon. They took more than 24 hours to process my order and then sent the wrong USPS tracking number. They sent what was supposedly the correct tracking information a short time later. The item didn't actually ship until Thursday and even then only made a trip around the post office and back to the origin. I think they didn't have my merchandise in stock and were trying to stall until they could obtain it. I inquired and was told the shipping label had been torn off so it was returned to sender. They said they would fix it by shipping UPS. They provided a UPS tracking number and actually shipped the item on Friday. It was sent as cheap as possible by UPS Ground, so it didn't arrive until Thursday. When I opened the box I discovered my items were not new. Both boxes had been opened, manufacturer paperwork and packing materials were missing, and items showed obvious signs of wear. I contacted the seller again and all they did was ask me to tell them who packed the box according to the invoice and if I wanted them to send me a return label. The invoice actually had the quantity of 2 and NEW highlighted! This was supposed to be a birthday present! I ordered it over two weeks in advance, but they ruined it for me. It is too late to order again after all of this mess. Their prices are cheap, but there's a real good reason for that. I'm certain they tried to send me used merchandise hoping I wouldn't notice considering they showed 2 NEW items in stock until my order was processed. They also claimed they were out of stock when I asked them to ship the correct NEW items. Let the buyer beware! Shop elsewhere, I will..."
"In August of 2009, I went through Buy.com and purchased a Neuros OSD which is a device that digitally stores media content.
The item was defective upon delivery. At that time, I realized that Electronic Palace, one Buy.com’s affiliates, had actually fulfilled the order. As such, I had to return the item to Electronic Palace for a refund. I contacted Electronic Palace for RMA instructions and shipped the item back to them at my own expense. After several weeks went buy, I requested a status update on my refund. I promptly received an e-mail stating that I should receive my refund shortly. Within the next day or so, the USPS returned the item to me because Electronic Palace failed to pick it up at the post office. I found it interesting that they were processing a refund for an item they didn’t have in their possession.
Again I contacted Electronic Palace and informed them that the item had been returned to me. I also stated that I expected them to cover the shipping cost to return the item a second time. Within a day or so, I received a pre-paid shipping label and shipped the item again. Several more weeks had passed and numerous phone calls/e-mails were not returned. I made one last attempt to resolve the issue before having my financial institution reverse the charges. I was finally able to get someone on the phone and she stated that “the check was in the mail” To my surprise, a check arrived a few days later. However, Electronic Palace had the nerve to charge me a re-stock fee.
So, initial shipping for the item was $15.00 plus the $15.00 I was out to return the item plus a $10.00 re-stock fee. Not to mention the 3 months of hassle and aggravation it took to actually get a refund. So, a word to the wise, if you make a purchase through Buy.com, be sure they are the seller and stay away from Electronic Palace.
