"I was sent the wrong products. I called customer service and the kindly offered s subsitute. However it was not what I liked. I feel if my order had been processed correctly, I would have received the products I wante."

"I have ordered from the English Tea Store multiple times over the past 5+ years and have always been satisfied. However, this year I encountered multiple problems.

First, soon after placing my order on Dec. 17, I was notified of items not available. I wish they would get a system that ties their inventory to their online order system so they wouldn't have so many items turning out to be unavailable.

Then I ended up hearing about items not being available over and over again. First, they left a phone message on Dec. 17 and I followed up by phone. As a result of phone call #1, I thought the available items were shipping the same day including 1 item that was a substitution (one type of Cadbury Dairy Milk bar for another type of Cadbury Dairy Milk ... smaller bar which cost more). Then 1 day later (Dec. 18), I got an email telling me the exact same information about items not being available so what did I want to do. So I sent an email reply and phoned on Dec. 19 to find out that my order had not been shipped on Dec. 17 but it did finally get shipped on Dec. 19 without Lime Pickle and Cadbury Dairy Milk which would be shipped sometime after Christmas. And then I received yet another email telling me about Lime Pickle and Cadbury Milk not being available but did I want my order shipped anyway (after receiving notice of my order being shipped). They then phoned yet again on Dec. 21 to apoligize because some items I ordered were not available and would be back ordered. How many times would they contact me to tell me the same information?

So then I actually received the items that were in stock and was further disappointed. The box was so badly packed that 2 out of 4 marmalade jars were smashed to bits and the other 2 jars were covered in sticky marmalade and splinters of glass (lovely Christmas gifts). The only good news was the mince pies and Christmas pudding were not damaged. English Tea Store was very nice about replacing all of the marmalade but what a disappointing experience.

On Monday, Jan. 21, I finally received the backordered and replaced items (except for 1 jar of Lime Pickle that they weren't able to provide). This final shipment was much better packed and everything came through in good shape.

"As usual, another flawless order. The items were well packaged and arrived in good shape (even the crackers that were sent in the same box as several, heavy mugs). The only thing that annoyed me was the company that delivered the items. My order arrived in my hometown early Saturday morning, but since Fedex doesn't deliver on Saturday I had to wait two extra days for delivery. Please use UPS next time!"
