"I liked the OEM unit that came on my Mazda 3, but with another vehicle that has Android Auto and many other newer features, I felt it was time to upgrade. There are a number of options available for this model Mazda, but I was curious about the Eonon unit that I'd seen mentioned on some message boards over the years. I decided to give it a try.
I'll note that I had the Bose system in my Mazda and the touchscreen head unit. I mention this because I could find no installation videos with this specific setup. All of them were the standard head unit. This matters because it took me a LONG time and a LOT of frustration to realize that there are two screws in the side of my unit that are not in the standard unit. Accessing them requires removing the glovebox (the door and the cubby behind it) and some side trim. Once I was able to get the old unit out, installing the new one was pretty easy. I did have to reach out to support several times along the way--the first time because there were some cables and harnesses that would not be used. Support was always friendly, and helpful, but they are half a world away and not 24-hours, so responses were usually half a day later.
As for usage and the interface, it does take some tweaking, but is pretty good once you get it set up properly and get used to it. Perhaps due to the equalizer, the music and audio are much better than my stock unit--I did not change the speakers or subwoofer. I will note that there is a faint hiss coming through the speakers when its not muted and there's no other audio playing. I had no interest in getting a SIM card for the Eonon but was able to download Google maps to use offline, or I can just run them through my Android phone. The head unit allows split screen to show two native apps at one time and it appears to show up to three Android apps at a time, but I've never been able to put it in this layout, it just does it when I have Android split and a text message comes in. it gets a little crowded with three apps on the screen, so I'd rarely use that anyway.
I ordered with the forward and rear cameras. The forward camera works well, though I've not yet permanently mounted it. I have not finished installing the rear camera. Another neat option is the Torque app and OBD device. Among other things, you can view various gauges on the Eonon that show things like coolant temperature, G-forces, and even boost. It appears to also record 0-60 times, etc... but I've not tried that feature yet.
The only stock feature I appear to have lost is my voice-command buttons on my steering wheel. It's odd that they couldn't retain them when the volume and seek buttons still work. I do have the Reverse Camera connected to the head unit, but not tapped into my reverse lights. Currently, it shows a blank screen, but it does show the green/yellow/red lines for helping guide you into a parking space. Somewhat oddly, the audio cuts out when I put the car into reverse--maybe so you can concentrate?
Overall, the unit looks great in the car (it's a perfect fit) and has been a welcome upgrade--even if I never finish hooking up the rear camera."

"Item showed up pretty quick, was very easy to install with an additional harness purchased as it was for a very old car, definitely good value for money and it is very responsive as it is Linux program. Only thing I would change is the position of the volume control to the drivers side for Australian drivers but it's a small issue. Very happy with the product.

"For a long time, I have been waiting for an iteration of the Eonon Stereo with the 9" display. I was looking for the specific one that has wireless Android Auto. Also, now that this has a slimmer design, it was easy to link and organize the wiring during the installation. The QLED display looks crisp and bright. Responsive touchscreen controls and quicker bootup time. I've yet to personalize the settings, but I might need to update the software. The user interface might need more refinement. Having the unit in the car made the interior look more modern.
