"1993-1997 Volvo 850 Axle Assembly-Front Left
Unfortunately, this order was placed since a previous order of an Axle Assembly lasted only 150km before the inside clip popped and caused the axle to come loose and damaged all the splines. That is the bad news and is only reflective of the ability for hardware to fail and not reflective of the service that FCP has always given me.
The Great news is that FCP staff were/are most accommodating in immediately issuing a replacement warranty part without the need for me to return the failed part, thus saving me the extra cost of shipping.
As of now, the replaced part has been in the car for about 1000km (I am guessing) and appears to be holding :)
Bottom line, as for the quality of staff that you have on hand and how they treat the customer (me) I have to say they are top notch and I have truly enjoyed all the dealings I have had with all members and staff at FCP.

"FCP Groton has grown too big, too fast. When they sold Volvo parts exclusivly, I never considered buying anywhere else. Their advice, prices, stock and fast, reasonable shipping was second to none. I have watched all that chenge for the worse as they are apparently stiving to sell parts for about anything with 4 wheels. "I'm a bit of a car buff. I've always said that once a car strands me on the side of the road, even once, I will get rid of it and never look back. I have no tolerance for cars that leave me stranded, nor do I have any tolerance for companies who do the same. FCP plays the internet game well. They work the forums frequented by the do-it-yourselfers. They advertise online and even have their salespeople on forums too, pushing their company. They get a lot of business through word-of-mouth on the internet and sell on eBay too. They have a good business angle, particularly in dealing with unreliable European car makes that break constantly, have expensive parts, and are owned by folks who like to pump money into their old beaters and do their own work. I'm in the wrong business, let me tell you.
I was a long time, enthusiastic customer of FCP and bought many parts from them over the years from when they were "FCP Groton" and sold almost only Volvo parts. Their prices were never the best, but I always got good service and they had most anything to keep a rear-wheel drive Volvo running in stock and available right away. However, as of late, I've seen a significant decline in their service as they've expanded from being almost all-Volvo into an all-encompassing company that sells parts for every make and model.
The decline culminated in a blunder that left me stranded for an entire day. My father went into the hospital over a weekend. I was in Louisiana and had to get back to Texas to see him. I had a part fail on my Volvo while there and needed a replacement immediately so I could make the trip. I called FCP and found out the part was available and told them I needed it UPS Next Day Air for 10:30 am delivery. I was explicit about 10:30 am and the sales person agreed with me and was very friendly. I even said to him not to ship it Saver because it won't arrive until nightfall. It didn't arrive the following morning. I had my car's dash disassembled ready for the part to arrive. When it didn't arrive, I called to inquire and found out they had shipped it Next Day Air Saver, which for residential, doesn't arrive until the evening. In my neighborhood, if it's not sent for 10:30 delivery, it arrives about 8 or 9 at night.
As a result of this blunder, I had to postpone a trip to Texas to visit my father in the hospital. I had to spend an entire day unable to drive my car because I had pre-disassembled everything so I could hit the road quickly once I installed the new part.
When I contacted them, the same salesperson with whom I spoke the previous day told me that there was no such thing as 10:30 am delivery with UPS. Obviously, that's not true and I told him so. Then he said that they "don't offer" 10:30 am shipping and only ship via Next Day Air Saver (the one that comes late in the day). So if he knew that, why didn't he say that when I told him I needed it by 10:30? He had no problem taking my order the day before (for $480) and telling me it would be there. He was either ignorant of UPS shipping or was dishonest. Either way, it was no way to treat a customer.
They offered to refund the shipping charges. That's great, but it won't give me back the delay their ignorance or dishonesty (whichever it was) caused me. Don't trust them with anything critical."
