"Placed an order on 8/11/2014 for 5 yards of fabric from fabric.com via amazon.com, and watched the status for 7 calendar days. Status went to preparing for shipment quickly but after 7 calendar days, I received notification from Amazon that the Amazon had not received notification of shipment within the expected timeframe. So I contacted fabric.com via the seller communications on Amazon to ask what the status was. I was notified that the fabric was sold out and would not be restocked until 9/17/2014 & then wouldn't be shipped until 7-14 days after being restocked.
I was dumbfounded that fabric.com had not had the presence of mind to mark their product out of stock on Amazon and that they were not at all apologetic about the inconvenience. Nor did they acknowledge the fact that it was their mistake for misrepresenting the availability of their product.
Additionally, they were unacceptably unresponsive to my inquiries. It took three emails over a span of 3 business days to get them to respond and when they did, they were not helpful, respectful, or accountable. I cancelled my order and luckily Amazon holds the policy of not charging your card until after items are shipped, so I did not have to wrestle my money out of this unresponsive, irresponsible company.
I also have ordered fabric directly from the site, fabric.com, and I am dissatisfied with their processing and shipping speeds. It took 7 calendar days for me to receive a swatch! And it's taken nearly 14 calendar days to receive curtain liner fabric... absolutely unacceptable.
Bad service.
Bad customer relations.
No accountability.
I don't care if they carry the best fabric in the world with reasonable prices (which they don't), it's not worth the time, effort, or money for products that aren't available when they say they are or that take eons to get to me once ordered. "
"HORRIBLE. I ordered 7 yards of decorator fabric, and 5 yards or so of liner fabric. I received an email saying the decorator fabric was not in stock, please tell them what to do. I sent them an email telling them to cancel the order, then I immediately received an email saying my order was shipping -- incomplete. So now I have to go through the hassle of a return? FRUSTRATING. Poor customer service. The UPS tracking says a label has been generated for the order, not that it's been picked up or shipped at all. They can't cancel the order, won't cancel it. I'm betting they are hoping I'll just keep the liner fabric. GRRRR.... After reading through many other negative reviews, I'm definitely not going to try again with another order and HOPE that it's in stock. "
"Worst online fabric company I have ever dealt with! (Beware, there are a few sites under similar names that are the same company, look at the menus and design and you will know))
First off, we pay a premium for shipping which seems to vary order by order even if the fabric is the same quantity, size, weight etc. Even more cost if you order smaller amounts. generally it will come within 2 days by UPS once the notification arrives, then the next order with be sent USPS and doesn't arrive for weeks if not over a month, (as I am currently a still waiting for the last (and final) order I made over a month ago.
Contacting customer service is a joke, its all the same generic answer , were sorry but the order has been sent to the warehouse and there is nothing you can do.....please contact us if we can provide any assistance....bla bla bla.
I made a large order a while back and realized I forgot to add an item, so within a minute I placed the order for other item I needed and emailed service to ask if they could kindly combine the orders and adjust the shipping accordingly, no big deal right ?? WRONG
Two days later I get a response, sorry your orders have already been sent to the warehouse and we can not help you. I responded with, contact the warehouse and make the adjustment......guess what same response, we are sorry but your order has already been sent to the warehouse.....
I own an upholstery business where I need product quickly and without issue where I can also direct my customers to order fabric from as well, but this will no longer happen, they have lost my business permanently."

"I placed an order on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Per Fabric.com's shipping policy, it says that your order will ship within 2-3 business days (not including the date you placed the order). This is simply not the case. I received an email today, Thursday, July 24, stating that my order would not arrive until the 29th. I called Fabric.com to inquire about why my package would not be received this week as I expected and was informed that they have 2-3 business days to PROCESS my order, THEN 2-3 business days to actually SHIP my order. I am very unhappy. I only ordered from this site because I was in a time crunch and needed the fabric this week. This is the first and last time I will use them! TERRIBLE & CONFUSING POLICY JUST COST YOU A CUSTOMER AND A BAD REVIEW."
"Placed an order on 3/14, still hadn't shipped on Tuesday so I called to find out what the hold up was. 2-3 business days to process order, okay, didn't see that when I ordered, but whatever. I was then told it would ship by Wednesday.
Next morning, Wednesday, I receive an email stating one or more of my items are out of stock, what? The emails says I have 24 hours to cancel or it will automatically ship out.
I respond and ask them to send out out today as it is a time sensitive project. The end of the day comes and goes and nothing showing that it has shipped. So I send another email and tell the to cancel my order. (At this point I am just going to go to Joann Fabrics so I can get my project done.
The next morning I wake up at 5:30 am so I can follow up by phone (they are EST & I am PST). The lady I spoke with said she would cancel my order and let the hold on my funds drop off.
Later that day I get an email telling me my order has shipped! What? I call right before they close and the lady says that just the shipping label has been printed and her supervisor would intercept the order. Later that day the hold dropped off my account and I went shopping for my fabric.
Not so fast! on Friday (22nd) I notice that my account has been charged again. They are closed for the weekend so now I have to wait until Monday to follow up. On Monday a phone call to them informs me that they were not able to intercept my order on the floor, but that they had recalled it from UPS, and yes they charged my card again! They also informed me that it will take 5-7 business days to see my refund. Why are you charging me for your error? Oh, and by the way, I just received an email telling me they aren't going to refund the shipping cost.
This is the most unorganized cluster @%$# of a company I have ever encountered. I will NEVER do business with them again."
"Fabric arrived damaged because they stuck a sticker to each piece. I could not get the sticky out of one of the pieces and attempted to contact the company for days, both email and phone, and never got a response, a return or a refund, just an unusable piece of fabric."

Ordered one item, 6 yards, wanted expedited shipping but found no option in the checkout to add it, just a note to contact customer service. So I did and they said there was nothing they could do, as the order was already being processed. "I ordered 6 yards of fabric. I was emailed a message stating they could only give it to me in 2, 1.5, 1, 1, & 0.5 yard pieces and I had 24 hours to reply by email if I wanted a refund. I immediately replied that I wanted a refund because I can only use 6 continuous yards or 3 continuous yards x2. I got an automated message back saying they would respond to my email shortly.
A couple days later I got a shipping notification. I emailed them immediately to say I did not want them to ship. I wanted to get a refund because I could not use the pieces. They sent the same automated reply.
Now I have all these pieces of fabric I can't use and they still have not refunded my card and have yet to reply to my request for a return shipping label. I have never reviewed a site online before, but I have never been this frustrated, either."

Had several messed up orders in the past, accuracy, time to delivery, short cuts etc, until recently I pulled out a fabric (1 yd fleece) with end of the roll Chinese characters in it huge in black marker. Completely hidden with the way it was folded! Of course contacting basic customer service gets you nowhere and managers are never available! How is this acceptable business practices?"
