"Unable to get on the Internet, I placed an order via phone for a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses on April 30, 2010. I'd called about a different model, which is no longer made, and I opted for something similar instead. While on the phone I was able to get online and saw that the model I purchased was showing as out of stock. No less than three times I asked the salesman if they were in stock and was assured that they were, and that I'd have them in no more than a week. No e-mail confirmation ever came, though my credit card was charged right away.
One week later, on May 7, I called and spoke with "Christie," who was nothing but polite. She looked up my order and seemed puzzled that there was no shipping note. She told me she'd call the shipping department, and took down my number so she could get back to me "right away." Two hours later, never having heard from her, I called back, and after looking up my order again she told me that they were about to ship my glasses but there was a scratch on one of the lenses and they had to re-order a new pair from Ray Ban directly, which *may* ship (to them) on the 28th of May. As I say, she was very polite and was willing to cancel my order then and there, though I haven't done so as it was a good price and I'm not in any particular hurry.
The site has positive reviews online, but after being so blatantly lied to by the staff, I would not order from them again
Update, 5-19-10
Much to my surprise, I received a shipping notification and tracking number on 5-17, Priority Mail, no less, and it arrived two days later. Exactly as ordered and at the cheapest price I could find on the Web. While I wish they'd been honest with me about the glasses not being in stock at the time of order, they ultimately did deliver. So, would I order from them again? I change my answer from never to quite possibly."
