"I placed an online order using the Subaru website (which is not user friendly). I submitted the order and paid with a credit card.
The only thing I know for certain is that a charge of over $200 hit my card almost immediately.
The site said I would receive an email that contained a link by which I could track my order. Never received the email. The site indicated an email address for a certain employee at this dealership. I did get a response the next day saying "a part that I had ordered was not available in the states. A projected time for its arrival was July 25, 2024. Please note the order was placed on July 11.
I got no reply to needing the email containing the link. I called 2 separate times to get a status using my order number. I got NO response.
It appears that I can wait until July 25 and hope for a response, but I am not counting on it. The dealership has had my money for about 2 weeks. I do not understand why Subaru does not act like numerous online sites that do not charge the card until the merchandise has shipped.
I don't know how this deal will work out. But if I get no response by calling, I am prepared to personally go there and not leave until I get satisfaction. I know of a another Subaru dealership that is about 100 miles away. That is where I bought my Outback for over $2000 less than this dealership's special "Out the door price". I will support local business only up to the point that I can save big $$$ by simply exercising my right to contact another dealership."
