"This place is a scam. I ordered a filter from them 10 days ago and have yet to receive anything. According to their website the shipping status is "PENDING" and the back-order status in "NO". I've sent several emails to them with no response and I've left several messages on their answering machine with no response. I contacted the manufacturer of the filter I ordered and was told this particular filter is no longer being manufactured and they have none in inventory. I will not do business with this company in the future and would not recommend this company to anybody."
"I was worried that filter house was a scam. I ordered a Hoya IR R72 filter at almost have the cost of most places. After some effort I was able to contact Filterhouse.com and find out the status of my order. It wasn't using their email or number from the website. I finally was able to reach them through the email on their Facebook account. That person got my in touch with someone hirer in the company. Many of the items on their site are on backorder and that is why the shipping times are longer than most places. My order was placed on the 12/16. I got the package on 1/6/12. If your patient the savings may be worth the wait. The communication from their shipping department needs work but I would order again but only if I didn't need it right away."
"Good price and prompt shipment. More importantly, the filters I ordered were discontinued so FilterHouse sent the next higher grade filters at no additional cost.
Excellent customer service.
I give this merchant a 10 out of 10 rating. "
"Placed order on the 17th, on the 27th emailed them about the shipping of the order and received back an email that 3 of the filters were discontinued but that they would substitute their new house brand filter. I email back that I would just like to cancel the balance of the order and would like a copy of a credit to my card.
I have since emailed 2 more times asking for a refund for the canceled product with no response."
"Fellow Photographers,
I recently purchased a Sigma 150-500mm lens to complement my Nikon D-90 arsenal of field lenses for an upcoming trip to the snowy mountains of Colorado. I started to scour the internet after my Sigma purchase for the best price possible in the acquisition of two filters for my new lens which required an 86mm filter size.
I decided on the “Hoya” brand as my filter of choice, specifically an 86mm Multicoated Circular Polarizer and an 86mm Multicoated UV filter. My internet searches lead me to numerous mainline stores as well as some not so well known. I found both of my lenses at the “Filterhouse.com” located in Houston, Texas. The price was great and both lenses had and additional rebate saving’s and free shipping.
Before ordering I researched the “Filterhouse.com” for positive and negative reviews which at first had me a bit worried, but I could not believe the great price and had to contact “Filterhouse.com” via E-Mail as well as leaving messages on their customer service line to find out two things.
#1 Did they actually have both of my lenses in stock ready for shipment when I put down my credit card, and #2 How long will it take to get to me, as I had a small window of time before my trip.
To my pleasant surprise I was contacted via cell phone by Ms. Karinne Rodriguez, Customer Service manager for “Filterhouse.com”. I proceed to explain to Ms. Rodriguez of my need for the two lenses described above and of my concerns of the negative reviews found for “Filterhouse.com”. I further enquired about my two requirements prior to making my purchase.
Ms. Rodriguez dispelled my concerns and assured me that both lenses were available for immediate shipment after purchase and kindly up-graded my method of shipment to 2-day air. Ms. Rodriguez subsequently processed my purchase while she had me on the line and stated that an E-mail would follow documenting my purchase and tracking information for both lenses.
True to her word, the E-mails were posted and I was ready to receive my lenses. Later that afternoon I was again contacted by Ms. Rodriguez via cell phone (as well as an E-mail) concerning a problem which had developed. According to Ms. Rodriguez, the Hoya 86mm Multicoated Circular Polarizer was no longer available from her supplier and she was notifying me that she would be refunding me the purchase price for this item.
After a short conversation and review of filters on hand, a more expensive 86mm Multicoated Circular Polarizer was located in her inventory by the folks at “Kenko” (which incidentally is the Japanese company which makes the lenses for Hoya). Ms. Rodriguez offered to substitute this lens for the same agreed purchase price (including the rebate and free shipping) as the Hoya Circular Polarizer.
Well, I want you all to know that I’m one happy camper and have no idea why “Filterhouse.com” received any negative comments, as they surely were not warranted. I plan on purchasing other filters for my lenses from “Filterhouse.com” in the future and can recommend them highly for service and product delivery which incidentally arrived within the two shipping days as promised.

"I have been dealing with FilterHouse for several years now and the product and customer service I have received has been excellent. I have purchased their Kenko line of filters and they are wonderful filters, comparable to the higher priced brands in their quality at a fraction of the price. I recently ordered a kenko 77mm uv filter and the representative said they were out of stock but would be glad to substitute a comparable filter in quality that was higher price for no additional charge, when it arrived it had come unpackaged and broken and Filterhouse replaced quickly without requiring the return of the broken product. I highly recommend Filterhouse for their great products, pricing and fantastic customer service."
"I was pleased with filter house. The items I ordered were delivered within a week and were exactly what I ordered."
"Ordered 3/21 online, FH.com notified me by email that my order had been shipped 3/22; since the order was in excess of $50, I expected the 2nd day shipping upgrade. My attempt to email orderprocessing@kobaholdings bounced three times. So I emailed FH.com. Today was 3/31 - no filters, no email from FH.com and after checking the tracking number emailed with my shipment. confirmation, UPS indicates my order was shipped & received in Wisconsin on 3/26/08 - I live on the East Coast! Called Filterhouse.com twice (no answer) & left messages. My credit card has been charged but still no filters. Update:4/2/2008, I emailed yesterday to cancel the order, still no email/no call-back. Later finally reached an employee who had been away on vacation - customer service must have been on autopilot. She confirmed my filters were accidently shipped to Wisconsin, unpacked & opened by the curious unintended recipient but the charge will be taken off my credit card.
4/10/08 - the charge for the cancelled order has not been credited to my credit card - Since I never received anything , why does a simple operation like crediting a MC for a botched order take so long? 4/22/08 - refund still not credited to MC so I emailed my credit card company to dispute the charge. A refund should take less than a week - this is dragging on too long."
"Fast confirmation and shipping. My order was upgraded free to 2nd day air. Filter came as ordered and came with a free mousepad. A very positive experience."
"On February 18th I ordered a new camera and gear, and chose Filterhouse for a Hoya Digital Pro circular polarizer because the price was $30 less including shipping. The shipping method was UPS 2nd day, and my account history indicated no backorder and shipping was pending. It stayed that way for 10 days. I sent an e-mail on March 1 indicating my displeasure and inquiring about the hold up. I already had my camera and was ready to play!
I received an email from Michele Masiello, informing me my item was backordered (contrary to my order history info), and if I wanted to cancel she would understand and credit my account. Considering it could take 60 days to refund my card, I said no, and that I could wait a little longer considering the savings.
On March 5 I received an email from Michele again that my order had been shipped. But, it was only a partial shipment because not all of the items were in stock and on backorder. I checked my account history and it did indeed indicate it was shipped, then I emailed her back again to say I had only ordered 1 item, and hoped that was the one shipped. The next day Michele emailed and informed me it was still backordered, not shipped, and when I checked my account history had been changed again to show a backorder status.
Thirty bucks is a pretty decent savings on one filter, but I'm really doubting it's worth considering the frustration factor and their lack of clear communication. The company I ordered the camera from had it in stock, but here it is a nice sunny day-off and I'm still looking at a BO'd polarizer for my new lens, nearly 3 weeks after ordering. There are a few more Hoya filters I'm going to buy, but I won't go through the aggravation of ordering from Filterhouse again!"
"The order was easy to place and arrived quickly. However, I need to exchange some of the items and can NOT get a live person on the phone. I've called 4 times in the last 6 days and left a message. No call has been returned. I am now forced to contest the charges on my card so I can get a response from them. Avoid these guys!!!"
"Placed an order on a Wednesday morning, 6/21/06, paid for UPS 2nd Day Air to receive by Friday, 6/23/06. Did not receive e-mail confirmation until mid-day Thursday. Attempted to call their customer service number all day Thursday, kept getting the voicemail recording, so I left a message to be contacted.. never got a call. I finally got a live person late in the afternoon and asked about status of my order, it still had not been shipped. The rep said she would upgrade the shipping to Overnight (this was very important, we needed the item by Friday) for no extra charge. Did not receive package until Monday 6/26/06 around noontime. I sent an e-mail to customer service to find out what happened, that was 3 days ago and no reply yet..."
