" I placed an order with this company for an exercise bike (as a gift) 2 weeks ago. In the interim, I sent them at least 3 emails requesting information on when the item would be shipped. They responded to only one saying that they would look into it and get back to me. Never happened.
Finally, I called them. After waiting on hold for more than a half an hour I got an agent who actually managed to get up from his desk and find out what the problem was. He told me that there was a "delay" (duh) and that the item would ship out in about a week.
While on hold I tried to contact the parent company (Gately's of Englewood, CO). One number was never answered and the other put me into the a queue with the same annoying muzak that I'd been listening to for half an hour.
But it gets better. They had charged my credit card when I placed the order. So for 2 weeks I have had the cost of the item added to my credit card balance.
Needless to say, I canceled the order.
I've gotten better customer service from flea market vendors. I will never order from these people again. I'm sure they won't miss the loss, but my fiancee's gym buys equipment by the truckload and was looking for other vendors. Maybe eventually these people will learn to treat everyone with respect since you never know what you'll be losing if you don't."

This company will not provide a date that the item will be shipped. How much do they make just kiting MY (OUR) $ without delivering the product? Maybe thiey are Cher's original "gypsies, tramps and thieves!"
Cancelled the order....recieved an email stating the $ would be refunded "after they confirm" the item was not shipped. STILL WAITING!!!!!"

"Ordered a product on November 15, 2005; credit card was charged immediately; as of December 12, 2005, no ship date arranged. Took four phone calls seven e-mails, and finally a 21 MINUTE hold time on their 800 number to get a living, breathing operator. He was polite and told me that item was on backorder. This is no way to do business. DO NOT believe ther websites guaranteeing customer service, 24 hour response time, 24 hour return phone call time, etc. FOr the $26 difference, I should have gone to someone more repuatble. "Fitnessbob.com is part of the Gatelys.com family. They seem to have many websites that are custom portals to the main web site. The fitnessbob.com web site is not updated often and does not have real time inventory, you will be better served to go to main gatelys.com or better still to call your order in if you choose to use them.
After reading the reviews here I did some more research and found the item I ordered was out of stock. The store offered a refund and credit back to my credit card. Disappointed that after two days I had to initiate this instead of them realizing their error. Now I just hope I can still get the item I wanted in time for Christmas!"

"Ordered a Bowflex Sport on 9/24 received in excellent condition on 11/3. It took a little longer then I was told but after looking at the Bowflex web site I figured at least 4 weeks as that's what they say. I was basically blown off twice by Gately's customer service people. Don't beleive it when they say they'll get back to you within 24 hours. But the third time I called I did get a call back with my tracking number and it was accurate. I would buy from them again if I didn't require the item for 5 weeks because the amount of money I saved was significant.
It was worth the wait. Give them a try if you have the paitence. "

Ordered a treadmill with "free" equipment mats included. While ordering, I forgot to include the discount coupon number. I emailed customer support, they credited my card.
Order was listed as preparing to ship for several days. Emailed again and asked why, they were temporarily out of stock. They said they would give me a 5% discount for the inconvenience. So far it's been pretty great!
A couple weeks later the treadmill was back in stock. I emailed customer support again and asked when my order would ship. It shipped the next day. It arrived the following week......, MINUS THE EQUIPMENT MATS AND 5% DISCOUNT.
All communication attempts with "Fitness Bob" since then have thus far, been ignored.
Unless the missing equipment mats and 5% discount issues are resolved soon, they won't be getting anymore business from me. Their failure to respond to my complaints once they got the money, really locks my jaws.
