"Flightcar is a rideshare company that promises free parking near airports...as long as you let your car be rented out to strangers while you travel. I rented once in San Francisco and had an okay experience--but then in Boston recently the service broke down exactly where you don't want it to-- in the safety of the car being rented. After my reserved vehicle turned out to have a 'check engine' light that no one had noticed, the substitute had a 'flat tire' warning that, again, no one had noticed. I was desperate to get going because of their slow service and the car problems, so left anyway--and then discovered at a gas station nearby that not one, but two tires were low by at least 20lbs of pressure. Later still, I discovered that the brakes had a horrible pull sideways at highway speeds... Needless to say, this is a lousy organization that put my life at risk because it failed to do basic safety inspections on cars that people just happened to leave in their parking lot. Not worth saving a few $$ at the cost of your life! (This is not even getting into their shoddy customer service generally, which I could go on about. I will say that their carelessness cost me more money than the service saved, because they failed to warn me about a toll booth on exit from the airport and that the car had no transponder...) "
