"I agree wholeheartedly with all those who complained. I have recently sent about 50 emails to them to receive a credit on an overcharge. On the original order it took them forever to send it to me and many many many emails and calls.Otherwise I may not have recieved my camera at all. Then they tried to sell me some noname battery for an extra 100 dollars. They made it sound like it was a Sony battery.I have been emailing for months with no response. Does anyone have a telephone number for them?? Please.
The number on the BBB site does not work.

"They brag about selling US manufactured products, then switch them with latino versions. I paid extra for a warrenty that is completely void because of this. They make promises on the phone and don't deliver. I've been totally ripped off."

"I actually attempted to purchase something from flyintheskyphoto.com. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! I tried to buy a digital camera but recieved a call the next day informing me my exp. date on my debit card had been entered wrong. Baloney! The rep attempted to upsell me a $100 battery and a $150 warranty. I researched more about this site and discovered how they really conduct business. Sadly, these types of businesses are all over the place, so a lot of people must be falling victim. I had write several threatening emails to the site before they cancelled my order, but it still makes me nervous that they have my visa number on file.

I ended up going to bhphoto.com, considerably more expensive but I know I'll get quality service.

Update:
Resellerratings.com asked me to make changes to my review since I submitted it so soon after my order was placed. I really have nothing new to add, other than thankfully flyintheskyphoto.com has not charged my card so at least they've done that much. My opinion still stands that these people are still crooks and should be avoided at all costs.

"I should have checked this website BEFORE I made the mistake of placing an order with FLYINTHESKYPHOTO (or whatever name they may use). I was trapped by these scam-artists just like the other folks that have left feedback. I finally had to call my credit card and cancel the card (after I found out that they hadn't posted the transaction yet). DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FRAUD ARTISTS."

"I have ordered a camera (Sony) that was in stock. I am going to a wedding this weekend. It was supposed to be here within ten business days. I called 6 days after I ordered it. I confirmed with their manager Michael (ext 103) that the camera would be shipped last Friday. Then I got a message to call them again. I was encouraged to order extra supplies. I did not. Today I called again. I found out I would not get the camera. Michael Vist said he had to backorder it and it would be here in several weeks. He asked me if I wanted to cancel my order and I said no. He cancelled it anyway and hung up on me. With three days to the wedding I have no chance to order it cheap on internet without paying extra for shipping. "

"Ordered a Casio EX-Z750 and received the phone call that others have described. After many pitches I agreed to a battery upgrade for $49. The camera arrived with only the battery that Casio includes yet my invoice clearly states a battery upgrade. No response to my complaint via email and no return call from "customer service". I got ripped so I advise others to avoid them and their crooked tactics."

"Ordered a camera.Next day an e-mail arrived - call James. The usual pitch for grossly overpriced memory cards and batteries ensued. After I did not buy any extras, I was told that the item would be shipped. After daily calls to chek progress (their web site did not have any status changes) I cancelled the order. "I can only join the others. I ordered a Sony camera at the great price of 373.00 delivered, only to be called to verify my credit card and then "pick my battery and charger." Which would only cost an additional $89.00. According to their website (and everyone elses) the batteries and charger are included in the box by Sony. Oh, and I should also purchase the warrantee, which I declined. The net is a package is on its way, due to arrive tomorrow, so I will see what I got for my investment of $469.00 (note the difference from the advertized price). These people are classic Brooklyn sheisters. Don't deal with them. They give Brooklyn a bad name! If what they sent does not meet the standard of "new" and "complete," then I will dispute through my credit card company and withhold the funds. Buyer beware and use the tools available to you to fight corruption. These jerks need to be stopped.

August 2005, well they sent the camera and it was new in box. I feel like I got lucky to get the camera. Check carefully, they operate under several different names (check the web) and I wouldn't do business again with any of them. Frankly, you can get the camera for less elsewhere on the web (even if it looks like the price is a bit higher, in the end it will be better).

"I started to become very suspicious about those guys, now I am sure they're a scam and very dishonest. I ordered a canon digital camera, they called me on a sunday morning, and upsold me a few things, warranty and battery, I should have known better, Tom the sales person told me it was a 3600 mAh battery, I received a 900... I called Tom back, when he made sure I had received my camera he transfered me extremely quickly to a customer care person, no goodbye, nothing.
The box I got seems old, scratched, the camera looks ok, small scratch...
I will not order from that site anymore, I would advise to keep away from them.

"The day after I placed my order I got a e-mail saying to call and confirm my order. A high pressure salesman then told me he personally had this exact camera and that the battery was no good. He tired to sell me a different battery. After telling him I didn't want to buy an additional battery he tried to sell me an extended warranty. I told him I just wanted the camera. Then next day I got an e-mail saying the product was backordered and would be shipped in 10-12 business days. 17 business days later I called customer service wanting to know if my camera had been shipped. I was told it was still on backorder. I informed him that he said it would be shipped with 12 business days. I also informed him of the fact the product was listed as "available" on their website. He said that was because the website had not been updated. Calling his bluff I told him I know the website has been updated because the price had changed on that item since I placed my order. He then loudly raised his voice and said, "Listen, I'm sorry sir but your order has been canceled." He then immediately hung up. I checked my order status on their website, and sure enough he canceled my order. I then called sales hoping to talk to someone who could help. I told the guy I would like to speak to a manager or supervisor because the customer service person I was previously speaking with hung up on me. I got the same response, he hung up too. Stay away from this company! Their prices may appear to be good, but they do not deliver on what they promise!"

"Same experience as everyone else. Got the email requesting to call for order status, then they called to sell us an additional battery. They claimed the lithium battery provided by Sony can only be used three times and then we have to throw it away and get a new one!! after we refused to buy anything additional, they also placed our order on backlog for 10-15 days. What crooks, they give a bad name for shopping on the net."

"I ordered a camera on the net and then I rec'd an email that said I needed to call the store to confirm some information. The sales agent tried to sell me additional items I did not want or need, IE additional memory card.

Then, the next day I get an email that the camera I ordered in on backorder with expected shipment in 12 days. I find the coincidence of these 2 events hard to believe. I still don't have the camera. I also find it hard to believe that the Olympus point and shoot digital camera can't be located in New York City, the home of some of the major camera distributors.

"the price was right, the item looked right, the order was placed. i got an email later saying that i needed to call to confirm. i thought, cool, fraudulent check up to ensure its not a stolen credit card. NOT. they called to confirm the address, try to upsell me to a second battery, a $250 filter kit, which probably costs them $50. and then pushed me on the canon warranty. i know warranties. i sell warranties. you want to know how much Compusa sells their warranties for on these cameras? $89. that's a quarter less than what they offered.

when i declined their "kind" discount of a service, i receive an email stating the item is backordered. what a coincidence.

i guess my recommendation (in general) is purchase only from storefronts that will list a local number and their addresses on their websites.
and BBB certified.

"Same experience as everyone else. I ordered a Casio EX-Z750 camera from them via their website. Later that day I received an email telling me to "call and confirm". When I called, I was subjected to hire pressure sales tactics to try to get me to buy an extra battery, memory card and warranty. When I said I wanted only the camera, I was hung up on. I later called and was told tha the item was suddenly "backordered". Total bait-and-switch operation. I'll testify against these crooks when the Attorney General of NY throws the book at them."

"Same experiences as others. I think these are also the same people from iBuyDig and Turbobuys. Wanted me to call because of a "change in status". When I called it sounded like the guy just got out of bed. Wanted to know if I had enough memory, and told me the camera only came with enough memory for two pictures. Told him I didn't want the case either and he hung up. After checking the other reviews here, I called to cancel and got hung up on four times and finally ended up calling on my cell so they would answer. They claimed my order was cancelled, but I also sent an email and called my bank. Bad mojo."
