"I bought a X5 foldable travel hair dryer from this site, specifically for international travels. Unfortunately when I used it in Europe for the first time, it got overheated and burned my neck pretty badly. I was in pain for two weeks and it left two marks. I then wrote a review for this product warning potential buyers about the possibility of overheating problem, folica.com apparently suppressed the review: it's been several days and my review is still not published. Moreover, they also refused to honor their supposedly 2-year warranty and refund my order. Stay away from this site! The reviews cannot be trusted!!"
"Folica charged $120 in unauthorized charges to our bank account. Called customer service and was told that someone in California got a nice order at our expense. They said they are not automated and do not check credit card info against billing address. Pursuing prosecution through our bank."
"Customer Service was a huge help on an issue. Fast shipping!!!"
"I ordered a curling iron for my wife and some shampoo and conditioner for both of us. Our order was shipped out the same day and arrived in great condition. There was even shrink wrap around a couple of the liquid products (probably to prevent leaking). I was thrilled they had Crew and my wife likes Rusk. My wife's CHI flat iron just broke so we may go to folica to buy a replacement or a different brand."
"I am truly flabbergasted at the negative reviews for Folica. One of my pet peeves, being that I've been a hairdresser for 22 years, is poor customer service. I have to say that I have received A+++ Customer service from them for the past few years i've been ordering. I've even ordered a flat iron that I returned because I didn't care for it and they paid return shipping and allowed me to keep the free items that came with it! Being a licensed stylist and shop owner, I get many of the items that Folica sells at wholesale prices from local professional beauty supply shops. But with some of there codes I have paid up to 1/2 off of what my beauty supply is selling it for (mostly the styling tools).
You nay-sayers are CRAZY!!!"
"Folica had great price, and great quality product. The shipment arrived sooner than expected. No sure on why not all of the reviews are five stars! Thank you Folica!"
"A great site with great prices, especially if you catch one of their promotional deals. My order arrived quickly and complete with no problems. I will definitely do buisness with them again and recommned to all my friends."
"I purchased an item from their website, I received a message that it is not available. I asked for a refund, and they said we haven't charged you, it was just a preauthorization.
Then I check my paypal account, and they have in fact charged me. I opened a dispute and they gave no answer. After two weeks I got a ruling from paypal in my favor to get refunded."
"Worst online ordering experience ever. Do yourself a favor and just flush your money. Do not give these thieves any."
"Naturally, you want to give the lowest mark for a product/service that you're disappointed with. Having said that, I've dealt with worse, so I can't conscientiously give the lowest mark for all aspects of review.
On the good side, shipping was brisk and arrived in reasonable time (a week after ordering).
My concern is that I thought I bought a 6.8oz bottle of Nioxin 2 scalp treatment. That is exactly the picture shown. And the price was pretty close to its competitors' 6.8 oz prices. I was surprised that a 3.4 oz bottle was shipped. When I looked at the site again, it turns out that yes, it was a 3.4 oz bottle. Just was a bit upset that the picture (that you can clearly read) is of a 6.8oz bottle.
The rep did little more than only remind me that they don't even carry the 6.8oz size, and that the picture "probably should be taken down".
I guess my bad for not reading the small (not fine) print. But still pretty deceptive, and not a company big on customer satisfaction. I've definitely dealt with better companies who were willing to help out for these kind of mistakes.
In all, probably not a "buyer beware", but with the competitive nature of on-line shopping, why in the world would you buy from these guys?"
"Worst online beauty supply store ever.
They let you buy items they don't have instock.
Then they charge you for the order even though your order won't ship for an uncertain amount of time.
Order from Sephora or Amazon to avoid problems"
"My wife had been looking at flat irons and I decided to buy her one for Christmas. She picked out a Solia (?) model on the site. They offered free ground shipping and an extra 10% off. Communication was good but shipping time was a little slow. My wife was very satisfied with the iron, though."
"Ordered a Solia flat iron and it shipped the same day. Came with a bonus massage scrub. Fairly low prices. Overall a good experience."
"I purchased a GHD flat iron ($250) only to find out it was counterfiet. I bought the MK4 which is dual voltage. It is advertised as dual voltage and the manual states it is dual voltage. I live overseas so this is why I bought this particular iron, as I travel alot. I went to Poland recently, plugged in my iron with an adapter and it fried. I contacted GHD directly and they told me that Folica is no longer on their list of reputable distributors due to counterfiets. I thought I had done thorough research before purchasing my iron. This is an expensive mistake and I want to warn others. The GHD customer service rep was very nice and told me that they had to remove Folica from their list of distributors because of numerous counterfiets being sold. I then contacted Folica customer service and the rep tried to blame me for improper use when it was mechanical error. She told me that the irons they sell are not intended for international use. However, this particular iron IS intended for international use. It is in the description on their website and in the GHD manual. She told me that they buy all their products directly from GHD. This is not true, as GHD told me that many of the faulty irons they sell are coming from China. I am reporting them to BBB. Folica is willing to give me a refund, but only for the cost of the iron $239, not the S&H, and they expect me to pay to ship it back to them at my cost. The customer service rep was very unprofessional and condescending. Please contact GHD directly before purchasing any GHD products online to be sure you are buying from a reputable distributor.

"WORSE SHOP EVER !!! I bought a NEW hair straightener and they sent me a refurbished one. With burning marks and a photocopied manual. Plus it doesn't work, cost me extra money to ship the darn thing back for refund. "
