"BUYER BEWARE! Furniture of America has Dealers with deceptive business practices! I was bullied and scammed by their dealer Furnish LA out of $150. Laura, the owner of Furnish LA delivered a piece of furniture it to my home that I had seen on Offer Up. She would not let me see the item until I paid her cash ($600). She lied, telling me it was solid wood, high quality and that she has a good reputation to maintain on FB. I paid her the $600 and when I opened the box, it was made of a plastic resin. After arguing back and forth trying to get my money from her, she called the manufacturer (Furniture of America) and said they would take it back for a 25% restocking fee ($150). She told me I would have to contact them for restitution on the restocking fee, it was their policy, not hers. When I contacted FOA, they said they had nothing to do with it and I would need to take it up with Laura from Furnish LA. Beware of her and a woman named Irene from Furnish SD, which is who I originally communicated with on Offer Up. Furniture of America clearly does not care who represents their product or the consumer. Read the reviews before you buy any of their products. They are bad news, don’t get scammed like I did!

"I have a list of complaints about the bedroom furniture I wish I had never purchased from this company.
1. It did not come from USA, but from China
2. Uneven and blotched paint, the dresser I ordered the same week came in brown rather than the grayish finish of the bed and nightstands from the same collection
3. Returns, warranties and policies between the salesperson that sold me the set, the retail owner and this company are all different. I think they make them up as they go if they sense any issues.
4. After a year and a half, the primer is bleeding through the paint on the front of the headboard with orange stains.
5. Paint is peeling off the top of one nightstand
If I could write this review with 0 stars I would. Don’t waste your money!"
"Furniture Of America is the most horrible place to buy from. I went through The Classy Home website and they are no better. Both have told me that can not help. I bought a sectional couch and an ottoman for over $1,600 and the ottoman was broke upon arrival, and the sectional broke shortly after. The sectional was to have to recliners, and one recliner never reclined correctly and broke within a few months. The thread detail in the sectional also came undone. Contacted both The Classy Home and Furniture of America to get nothing but a "I am sorry for your problems, but there is nothing we can do!" Please do not waste your money at either place. You will be disappointed and sorry if you do. "
"Furniture Direct Stores should not get anybody elses money! STAY AWAY! This is the most frustrating, unreliable company I ever had to deal with. It is true that they do not return calls, deliver damaged furniture and then do not want to take any responsibility. I have been fighting with them since April (order placed March 1st) and today June 15th another damaged piece of furniture came to the door (3rd piece). I can not get a manager to come to the phone, I can not get undamaged furniture, and I had to fight with the shipping company that they needed to deliver INSIDE my house, not just drop off the dining room table on my doorstep. Furniture Direct had "accidently put the wrong shipping code". This is a horribly unorganized company, with poor customer service although they charged me quite promptly."
"
It's June 13, 2011. I finally received my Harden chairs. Ten months to the date of order. The chairs are beautiful but I can't recommend this company. Doris at Furniture Direct had the nerve to say they couldn't find anyone who shipped to Vermont. I reminded her that they shouldn't say they could at the begining and take the money. I also reminded her it's been ten months since I ordered. Anyway, later in the day I received a call from Sun Delivery. They were great and in a weeks time got the chairs to me. The men that delivered the furniture were very clean cut and professional. Finally a positive note in this nightmare.
Well it's now 9 1/2 months since I ordered Harden chairs from this company and I've paid for them and am waiting for the delivery company to contact me. My feeling is a reputable company like Harden should pull Furniture Direct's access to this company. It's shameful what they put customers through. It doesn't bode well for Harden or any other company."
"The web site states average delivery time is 6-12 weeks which is acceptable. However 7 months and counting is not. They now have my full payment and are telling me that it will take another month for it to be deliveried. When called to ask why - they refer me to the delivery company. If I had known it was going to take this long and this much headache to stay on top it - I would have never ordered. You are better off dealing with a different company. To date I have nothing to show for the thousands of dollars I've spent except and empty room! "
"I ordered and paid for furniture eight months ago. I still do not have all the pieces. Furniture Direct refuses to return calls or respond to emails. I would not recommend them to another person."
