"On 8/10/03 I received my new Omega computer from Gmachines.com (Invoice # GM-1622). I paid $4,407.48 for an Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz with 1GB of Kingston HyperX 434Mhz PC-3500 DDR memory. I unfortunately did not check the components inside within the 30 day money back gurantee. I wondered about a couple of BIOS settings like processor speed, memory type, etc.. Gmachines replied back to my email telling me not to mess with the BIOS settings that the machine was setup for optimal performance. A lot of their customers change BIOS settings and mess up the machine. After installing the applications I needed immediately, I finally got the time to run checks on the system. I ran an Intel processor frequency ID checker that I downloaded from Intel as well as SiSoftware Sandra Professional. I found out that the processor is a P4 3.0Ghz Intel. I emailed Gmachines and they apologized for the mix-up and offered to put a 3.2Ghz processor in if I sent back the machine. Not so easy when all my personal information is on the machine and I need the machine daily. I began to analyze the components further and found out that the memory installed is HyperX 370Mhz PC-3000 DDR memory. I paid for and my invoice says HyperX 434Mhz PC-3500 DDR memory. At this point, I felt like I was robbed. Gmachines had no comment on the memory and offered to send a check for the difference in both the processor and memory. On top of this the front two USB ports do not work. Mike from Gmachines said they would have a new cable sent to me within 4 days. After 2 weeks they said the case I bought was no longer made. Interesting since all their machines come with a 1 year warranty. Their response to emails have been slow. I have called their 1-***-***-**** support number at least 20 times……no one ever picks up the phone. FUTURE BUYERS BEWARE. Gmachines.com appears to be a one man operation looking to maximize their profit by accidentally installing lesser components which are not easy for the consumer to notice.
Its now 9/25/03 - I still have not received a check from Gmachines. They have not responded to my emails or voicemails. I have sent several additional emails under different email names asking general questions and I amazingly did receive replies within 1 day. I guess they hope I just go away...little do they realize.
9/27/03 Gmachines finally emailed me back. After saying that they supposedly installed the correct memory (I guess Kingston mis-labels their memory....I doubt it)here is Gmachines closing statement;
"Unfortunately you won’t have much of a chance to do anything legally because we have closed up shop meaning GMachines is no longer in business…"

"Don't buy one. I can't get hold of technical support. All I get is an answering machine which no one replies to. My graphics card is not working whether fixing it is simple or not this company should reply to me. They haven't and I've emailed and called. I even wonder if there in business."
"So far I have nothing but good to sasy about Gmachines. The computer was delivered on time, and as promised. The few questions I had for tech support were handled quickly, courteosly, and professionally."
