"I purchased an XFX 7800GT video card from Gamedude for $500. First it took over 2 weeks from payment date to receive the part, they sent me the wrong model number part even after I rang them to confirm with them whether the card they were advertising on their website was the actual picture or the part number, they told me the part number is what I will get and to ignore the picture as it was wrong picture. Anyway I receive it and guess what? I got the card in the picture, not the part number as advertised. Then I open it up and I have no free bundled games as advertised. I ring them up and end up talking to some rude guy called Adrian who tells me that games only come with the GTX version. The box states clearly that bundled games should be included. My friend bought the same card weeks before me from eBay. He got it for same price as me, came in 3 days from USA and he got the correct part and bundled games. If they had sent me the correct model in the first place, I would have the games and the card I originally ordered. When asked what they were going to do about it, he told me “What can I do about it if I don’t have the games here?” This is supposed to be my problem?? I was told I have to get in contact with XFX about the games. Did they have an Australian contact for them? No! And whats more I was expected to chase this up also. I didn’t even get an apology for sending the wrong part. When I told them how dissatisfied I was with the service and the F*%& around, he hung up on me. Which just goes to show, when these guys know they are in the wrong they will not take responsibility for it and take the easy option which is to get rid of the customer, after all they just got my $500 and sent me incomplete part what do they care?? I would stay well away from this store. Yeah the prices are cheap, but u get what u pay for. That is over 2 weeks to receive parts, no communication, rude customer service and then a slap in the face. I will NEVER be buying anything from them again and will be letting the rest of the world know and anyone who mentions ordering from gamedude know also just what they are getting themselves into. SHAME GAMEDUDE SHAME!!!"
"Initially I bought a computer from gamedude as they had the cheapest prices I could find at the time. However, the screen caused some major problems as it "was in the process of being discontinued." It took weeks to organise an appropriate replacement, which was worth more then I'd paid, but the mucking around and the queue I had to wait in at the store 3 times was not worth it. At a nearby store with only slightly higher prices, I walked in, saw a salesman, bought my speakers and walked out within minutes, not over half an hour of waiting later. Back to gamedude, I later ordered some sata drives over the net, which were paid for and promtly delivered. Moral of the story: Buy parts they have in stock and are not cutting edge, NEVER buy a custom system."
"poor service. make order and select express delivery, these guys overcharged $20 on shipping and items came 3 weeks after order placed.
buyer beware!!"
"Gamedude's customer support is terrible. A faulty video card took 9 weeks to be replaced. During this time Gamedude would not return my calls and refused to give me an estimate of how long the process would take.
The card subsequently failed again. It is now 3 weeks since Gamedude recieved the faulty card for the second time. They still cannot give me an estimated time. When I asked for a refund they only offered me $130 worth of store credit. I paid $569 for the card about 8 months ago. The card has been away for repair/replacement with gamedude for almost 4 out of the 8 months.
I am out of pocket for $30 worth of postage and a similar amount in long distance phone calls chasing it up."
"Eight weeks since returning my DVD burner for warranty replacement - I am STILL waiting for a date as to when I will receive my warranty replacement.
I am wondering when GameDude might be calling the manufacturer to establish an ETA on the replacement part. I would have thought contact from Office of Fair Trading would have given GameDude some motivation, obviously not.
GameDude's "partial" (less than 1/2) refund offer is laughable and lack of action in offering a replacement or even to call the manufacturer shows how little they value customers.
Services that take eight weeks :
Engine rebuild - NO
Buying a house - NO
Applying for passport - NO
Repairing a vehicle hit by a truck - Yes
Replacing a DVD Burner via GameDude - YES
End result - after Gamedude could not give a date for replacement they finally did the right thing and offered me another burner."
"I found GameDude to be extremely helpful in their ordering process. The turn around was fast and their staff was helpful and put themself out.
Thank You."
