"have spent a lot of money at GameStop with 3 boys. I went online to buy 3 Oculus. I submitted my order and it was declined. However it did take the $900 out of my bank account to hold. When I called customer service crying because I have killed myself working to get this money they were so horrible to me. They told me that they can't help me that my money will go back on my card eventually. They even laughed a little while saying it like it was no big deal and oh my bad. Christmas is in 5 days. I won't have presents for them. It's not funny and it is a big deal. When I asked why take the money and hold it if the transaction was declined. They said I can only buy one system at a time online. I don't think that is true. My business will never come through here again but with it being as big of a company as it is they truly do not care about customers and they don't mind that. Why would they."
"All sales final. Saved 5 months to purchase v-bucks for my son. The cards won't link to his account, and the store will not make a exchange, much less a return. So I am out money that will still be in their pocket, but they don't care.
No warning of all sales final. Manager tells me it would be printed on receipt (you know, after the purchase). Not helpful.
I will not shop at GameStop again - EVER."
"Employee in VA beach stole my credit card info and was on the show First Day In."
"This is by far the BIGGEST joke of a company EVER! I placed an order online, the tracking is sayings it’s been delivered but I NEVER received it. I was told a refund would be made in 3-5 days after the claim, that I couldn’t get a replacement, but I never received it back. When I emailed, they told me I would have to file a claim with USPS unlike what I was told on the phone, which USPS is not allowing me to as I am not the sender. I am not understanding why I was lied to about being refunded, and why the order still hasn’t arrived. I always purchase in store, I am beyond disappointed this has happened with my first online order with GameStop. I had no idea GameStop done this to their customers! We have been completely ripped off $125, AND the items! Horrible customer service, they do NOT care about you, and lie to keep you from contacting them! Avoid at ALL COSTS! They have lost a customer who has spent at least hundreds just in the last few months in store. I will never support this company again. If the $125 is seriously that important, keep it! BUYER BEWARE!"
"GameStop sells advertised new Xbox games and instead sends opened clearance items. On new unopened games, they say they are returnable to stores, but the stores are not able to refund back as items are purchased on PayPal credit. When I went to a local store to get refunded for the new but opened games and the sealed new game, the clerk called the manager, who said OK to issue the refunds on my three items, until the clerk called back and told they were purchased with PayPal credit, for which the returns and refunds were then denied by the manager of the local store. When I called customer service, the agent said the computer was slow and after waiting about ten minutes, he hung up on me."
"Ordered a Nintendo switch for my daughter December 4th and it was supposed to be a Christmas "
"I ordered 3 wii games for Christmas gifts for my children from GameStop. They sent me 2 EMPTY GAME CASES.
"
"GameStop has the absolute worst online customer service. I ordered a brand new game for full price and they sent me an open copy and when I called they assured me it was new but I said I like to have my games in the factory seal in case I like to resell them one day. I have a large collection and I don't get to everything. They sent me a message that basically said if the item isn't scratched that GameStop considers it brand new. I returned it and they sent a replacement which was the exact same thing again except the open game was in a loose plastic sleeve that they put it in themselves. Really? They sell "open box" games as "new" and there's no where on their website explaining that it's that way. I've ordered games from every major online retailer and and many sellers on eBay and I have never got a new game that came in an open box after paying for a new copy. On eBay the game must be sealed or has to be listed as open box or used. Why is that ok at GameStop? I left a negative review on GameStop's website about how they sell open games as new and a few days later my account was flagged and I'm no longer able to make purchases. It takes forever to get anyone on the phone, shipping takes at least 2 weeks on average, they've sent me the wrong items on 2 occasions and I've never had that happen anywhere else. Items that they have in stock on website will be really out of stock and they process orders anyway, take your money and leave the order in limbo until you call and actually get a real person to respond about how they have no idea why it happened (yeah right) and then can cancel the order that you really wanted. The only positive about GameStop is that the in store experiences are always good and the employees are nice and helpful. But brick and mortar game stores are on their way out anyway so this problem is only going to get bigger. I tried to make my voice heard on their website and they banned me. Now all
I can do is let others know about my experience on sites they can't ban me for costing them sales. "
"Sold me a ps4 that doesn't work and is not registered to me when asked to fix or replace item ... not allowed because It's not registered to me .. they sold me the item I have proof of sale but there's nothing they can do... customer care worker Issac said that since it was past the warranty my loss ... no way conversation was recording and will get my day so they can explain how they sold me a defected product not register the product to the purchaser and then say I can't return or trade it in because it's not registered to me "
"I purchased a gaming headset for a gift from GameStop about 2 weeks ago. I received a shipping notification and a day or two later I received an email letting me know my package had been delivered. This was around 8pm didn’t see any type of delivery happen. I reached out to GameStop the day after to let them know and the rep asked me if I wanted a refund or replacement. I chose a replacement and she told me she would get a replacement item shipped out with one day shipping. Well I got the order confirmation and everything. Within a couple days when I hadn’t received any shipping notifications I reached out again. This time the rep told me they had to do an investigation to find out where the package went and then they would send out a replacement. I was frustrated as it was already past the day I needed the headset for and the rep failed to mention they would need to do an investigation before shipping it out and the one day shipping they promised was moot. They told me the investigation would take about 5-7 business days and they would ship out a replacement then. Well it’s been more than 7 business days and no email or update. I chatted with another rep and she told me said it takes 7 business days. When I told her it had been that long she then proceeded to tell me it was going to take an additional 7-10 business days for more investigation! Are you kidding me? It’s not my fault the package was lost and now I’m waiting for an item I PAID for while they look into why the package never made it to my door. This company is totally incompetent and any rep I’ve talked to doesn’t even care about my issue. Why would you offer a replacement if the customer has to wait forever when they can just get a refund and repurchase the item and HOPEFULLY get it the next time? With the way I’ve been treated I’m not letting this go and I hope it saves people from going through the same thing I am. I’m never doing business again and I hope this gets resolved quickly. "
"Horrible experience never AGAIN!!!! They shipped it and said it would be here in a few days by Sunday and after THREE weeks I called and requested a refund and told them I no longer wanted it because it was a $400.00 system they said they would cancel and refund my money hut if course never did FINALLY two weeks AFTER that I got my system but honestly wasn’t worth 400 dollars"
"Ordered a console. Got it. Didn't work. Returned to Gamestop. FedEx delayed return for a week and a half. Spoke w/Gamestop, they were able to see the delay on their end. I was then told it would be 7-10 business days for them to "look into it". No offer to send out my replacement unit since the first one they sent was bogus (this was a gift for my son). Not good CS at all. I did my part. What would it have cost them to send out my replacement unit knowing theirs was en route. I'm guessing if the package was lost they would have told me I'm s__t out of luck. Package was finally received by GS today. Side notes: this package was only traveling in one state. FedEx tracking today said my package was delivered...ON MARCH 1st. LOL. Which was the original expected delivery date. What a joke on both ends, FedEx and GS. Never again. "
"I ordered 2 squishmallows online at gamestop.com and when they came in they both were damaged (one had a hole and one had stitching errors). I called customer service and they sent me replacements for both of them with expedited shipping! I just got the replacements and they’re perfect. I was able to give the damaged ones to my younger siblings because Gamestop wouldn’t take the other ones back and they were really excited!"
"I placed an order 11/29/2021 for an unlocked iphone and we received a locked iphone. GameStop promptly emailed a Fedex shipping label for return. On 1/3/2022, we received an email from GameStop the iphone was received & signed by JJimmy and it would take 5-7 business days to process our replacement. 7 days later, no replacement yet so we called GameStop and they told us they have no record of receiving the iphone we returned but they would process an internal ticket to investigate it and we'd receive a return call on 1/12/2022. On 1/13, we called GameStop and spoke to another rep. Apparently, no ticket was ever generated nor did they have a record of receiving the iphone we returned. For them to investigate it, we needed to prove we purchased an iphone from them and we needed to provide them with the Fedex return shipping label they generated. UNREAL!. We did this and they confirmed receipt of our email. We called GameStop daily from 1/14 thru 1/20 and still could not get any answers. Finally, on 1/20 they confirmed they received the iphone we returned to them as verified by their 1/3/22 email to us. It would take another 3 days to process our return. By 1/25, still no replacement iphone. On 1/28, we emailed GameStop and canceled the replacement and canceled the order. We disputed the charge with our Credit Card Company since GameStop obviously is extremely unreliable. Thus, you may find a slightly cheaper price at GameStop, but the small savings is not worth it. Shop elsewhere!"
"I got most of my kids Christmas through GameStop. They had a Xbox one hard drive that I needed for my son, and a drone I could not find anywhere else for my daughter! Not only did they ship the items fast, but when the drone was delayed they kept in touch with me to ensure I got it. The items were packed well, and arrived safe!"
