"This was my first time trading in my old devices, it was quick and easy overall had a good experience."
"They made a mistake in receiving the phone I wanted to sell them. As a result they paid me $78 less than what they originally offered. I tried calling and emailing them to explain the problem to them, but could never communicate with them. The people who answer the phone do not have any information and are not able to help. My emails go unanswered. I consider them very dishonest. "
"The whole process was extremely simple from the beginning. They sent me the box, I packed up my phone, and about a week later I got money deposited into my account. Pricing was extremely reasonable and more than competitors! "
"Have not rreveived payment"
"More then expected! Awesome "
"I am one of those rare people who have never dropped their phone even once. I am also the type of paranoid person that immediately after opening the box on a new phone safeguards it in a case and a screen protector. I recently sent in two iPhones to Gazelle. AN older iPhone X and an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Both were in absolutely flawless and pristine condition. They both looked brand new with no marks, scuffs, or scratches . About a week after Gazelle received them they claimed "We found that the device has more than the acceptable amount of scratches." which was complete BS. They reduced my offer from $674 to $508 and hoped I would just bite the bullet. I didn't. They are sending it back to me but are using the absolute slowest meths possible with an estimate of 7 to 10 days. Avoid Gazelle!"
"Awesome, wonderful, super easy"
"I sent in a perfect iPhone that was always in a protective case. Quoted a great price both times. Upon "inspection" they said there were scratches on the case. Not true. I will not be using them ever again. I wish I saw this site before. Don't trust Gazelle and their " great price offer". "
"I sent them two iPhone 14 Pro's that were in perfect condition -- no scratches, perfect functionality. Gazelle offered $623 each until inspection time. Gazelle claimed that one iPhone had "excessive scratches" and the other iPhone had pixels missing from the display. Consequently, Gazelle revised their offers for both phones down by approximately $200+. They essentially hold your devices hostage; either accept their new offer, or they will return both units to you. The problem is, plenty of time went by since the units were shipped to them, and when they inspected them. Resale values go down significantly week by week. Then I have no guarantee of the current condition of the phones, as when I sent them, they were in perfect condition, were cleaned, inspected by myself, and shipped (double boxed) in original Apple boxes, including the film that goes on the front and the back to protect devices during shipment. Gazelle claims the units have excessive scratches and pixel anomalies -- how did that happen? I decided to cut my losses short by accepting their low offer, and move on with my life -- just make the problem go away. Lesson learned. I've never had a problem selling my iPhones to Apple, Declutter, Amazon, or ebay."
"I traded in 2 iPhone 13 Pros (128gb) when my wife and I upgraded to the 15 Pro. 1 phone was in excellent condition, had zero noticeable scratches and had been used in a case the entire time. I choose "lightly used" per the description on their site and received a price quote of $563. The other 13 Pro had a couple of scratches on the screen but was in otherwise good condition with no other scratches (always used in a case). I choose "scratched or scuffed" per the description on their website and received a quote of $544. I shipped both phones to Gazelle.
After receipt, I received adjusted offers of $415 for BOTH phones, one of which had ZERO scratches or scuffs and was in excellent condition. I called the company and they basically told me that if I didn't like the adjusted offer that the only thing I could do was to reject the offer and have our phones returned, which is exactly what I'm doing. I am truly baffled by their adjusted offers and can't help but think that they are running a total scam by adjusting the offers downward significantly upon receipt. I 100% described the conditions of our phones accurately when doing the trade-in. Beware of this company!"
"Quick, easy, accurate - would use Gazelle again."
"This was my third or 4th transaction with Gazelle and I've yet to be disappointed. They are more than fair in their offers, and the turn around time and payments are quick, and pretty stress free, from the shipping that they pay for to the payment process. Would do business with them anytime."
"Was the easiest trade in I’ve ever done!"
"I sent two sealed unlocked Samsung S23 Ultra phones, in sealed boxes, directly from Samsung. They offered me $711 for each phone. When they received the phones they adjusted the price to $348 per phone claiming the phones were not unlocked, reducing what i receive by $726. "
"My personal experience with a recent attempt to sell my phone on Gazelle, where they downgraded the condition of the phone once I sent it in and reduced their offer. A web search has found many others online experiencing the same issue when they used Gazelle.
For me, tried to sell my iPhone 11 on Gazelle. I’m a perfectionist at heart, and have always kept the phone in a lined case with a screen protector since the day I bought it, so no scratches/blemished areas, etc. Inspected the phone and even took close-up photos, and verified there was not a single scratch or blemish. I filled out their online form, and indicated the phone was in “excellent condition”, and was offered $251. Sent it in the padded box they provided, and a week or so later after receiving the phone, received the following from Gazelle:
"When we checked out your Apple iPhone 11 128GB (Unlocked), we found some conditions that affected the value of your item. Here's what we found:
• Scratches: We found that the device has more than the acceptable amount of scratches.
Because of this, we are adjusting your offer to $194.00 for your Apple iPhone 11 128GB (Unlocked). You can choose to accept the new offer of $194.00, or have us return your item to you. If we do not hear from you by 09/28/2023, your new offer will be automatically accepted and we will pay you the new price."
Needless to say, for an almost $60 devaluation of a perfect phone, I did not accept their offer, and had them return it, which they did. Inside was the phone with a tag stating the phone exterior condition was rated as “C”… mid grade. I inspected the phone again, verified it was my actual phone, and inspected it carefully again, no, there is not one scratch on it!!!!
I tried selling again with another online business DeCluttr, was offered the same amount, and once they received the phone they paid me the full amount right away, no issues there.
I’m aware that a condition of a phone is subjective to whoever looks at it, but for a business to say it has more scratches than acceptable when it does not even have one scratch is fraud.
This business will take advantage of you if you let them...go elsewhere!"
