"Would have been 5 stars but I had to paid fees on the PayPal transaction."
"Very easy which is rare these days!"
"Easy process to print a label and mail in (no cost) at UPS. Got money expected within a week or so."
"Great transaction with Gazelle for my iphone. This is my second transaction and I plan for there to be a third!"
"I bought iPhone 11 in May 2022. I was very happy with it until I found the phone was not paid off by the previous owner. I planed to visit my home country in Nov 2022 and wanted to buy a SIM card to use my phone in that country. For this, the phone needed to be unlocked. (Mine was sold locked.) When I contacted ATT to unlock the phone, they advised that it could not be unlocked because the phone still had the installment plan that was not paid off. They even gave me the phone number (of the previous owner?) with which the current IMEI was associated with. I contacted Gazelle Customer Service and asked if it was possible for them to sell phones that still had a balance attached. First, the response was "We have 30-point inspection, so it should not be happening." Then, my inquiry was forwarded to another department. I received a response "If the phone was sold "locked", you cannot unlock it." I asked again "Do you sell phones that are not paid off?" The response was "You have 30-days to return your phone if you're not satisfied."
So, it didn't go anywhere. If the phone was sold as not unlocked, and customers were not supposed to be able to change this status per their sales terms and conditions, that's fine with me. But I do have a problem if the company sells phones that are not paid off.

"Gazelle made it super easy to sell my old iPhone 11. The box was super easy to pack up and drop off. Felt confident with the packaging that nothing was going to get damaged. After they sent my email notification of my payment, the Amazon gift card was massively easy to claim and get into my Amazon account! Extra bonus, they wound up giving me MORE than the initial quote. Whole thing could not have gone smoother. This is why this is my 4th phone I've recycled through Gazelle."
"I have done business with Gazelle before and this last experience was out of character. Prior transaction had timely processing and payment. This last time was AWFUL. I know it was the holidays and I know everyone is busy but, 10 days to confirm confirm receipt of the phone (USPS receipt confirms in their possession for 10 days) and 18 days to receive my money. Unacceptable even with holidays thrown into the mix."
"I received a quote from Gazelle for my iPad Pro 9.7 which was a in flawless condition. I accepted Gazelles offer and sent it in. About a week later, I received an email from them lowering the price to $35.00 dollars from $153.00. I asked them why and they said because it has excessive scratches on it which it didn’t because I took pics of the front and back before I shipped it. I declined their offer and asked for it to be shipped back to me. Guess what, and this is what I expected, there was a scratch on the back of the iPad that definitely wasn’t there when I shipped it. This had to be done by the person who inspected it at their KY facility.
Never again will I even consider this place."
"I ordered a phone. A few days later got mail saying it was delayed. A week later I called and asked to cancel the order, and requested a refund. That service was good. Then I got mail saying the phone had shipped. Now I have to wait for delivery, go to UPS, print the form, and return the item (I currently have no car, so this is a hassle). Bottom line: this company can't keep track of its inventory. I do not recommend this company. "
"I purchased an iPhone 11pro on Oct 26th 2022 on Jan 5th 2023 the phone’s touch screen stopped working and I was unable to use, shut down or restart the phone. I called customer support and after a 15:00 wait was given a claim number and supposedly transferred but was disconnected. I’ve called several more times waiting at least 15:00 to 20:00 in voice mail but no one answers. Terrible service and response- do not purchase from Gazelle - there customer support is no-existing "
"Buyer beware. They will advertise a product as available and you will buy it. Then they will delay and delay, ultimately telling you the item you ordered is now on backorder. Takes a day or more to get a call or an email back from them. Email people don't have the same system as phone support people. Will never buy another thing from them. I have asked for a refund for the item I never received and no one will respond."
"Tried to get an iPad for Christmas, paid for expedited shipping. Got an email saying it was delayed. The email should have said they were out of stock. Cancelled and got a refund. Found a better deal a local pawn shop. My parents came in for Christmas and my mom cracked her screen, she order an unlocked phone and they sent her one that is locked. Called the carrier and the phone still has money owed on it. So gazelle is obtaining phones that cannot be unlocked and selling them as unlocked. They do not exchange or get another on the way or anything. Hold times were ridiculous as well. "
"On Nov 28, I ordered a used iPhone 8, for a value of $100 on their website. On Dec 6, 2022 I received an empty package from Gazelle.
I received the package directly from the postman, so this is not an issue with the "porch pirates".
After hours on the phone, waiting to talk to a Gazelle customer service, I was told I had to file a complaint with them. I waited many days for a response and then I was told I needed to file a police report. I did this and got no response. After more waiting I wrote them again and was told I would told I would have a response by 12/21. Today is 12/23 and still no response.
All for a product worth $100.
I have never dealt with a online service like this. Normally one would expect to be able to contact customer service easier, that they were more transparent, and that there would not be some much work for a small refund.
BEWARE!!

"What a waste of time - don't bother with a Trade-In. It really is a fraud. I should've listened to the other negative reviews online, but I tried to rationalize thinking "they've been in business a while, they must be honoring most trade-ins, mine will be fine." I sent in a mint condition iPad to them - estimated trade-in value was over $220. They sent me the prepaid box very quickly, that's where the good experience ended. I packaged my iPad and sent it in immediately. Now everything online and in their FAQ's says they will inspect and pay you within 3-5 days of receiving your trade-in. They received it on 12/10 according to my USPS tracking, but they did not even mark it as 'received' until 12/16. Then finally I get a "your offer has been adjusted" email on 12/22 stating my iPad had "Screen Doesn't Fully Light Up: We found that your LCD screen has some discoloration, defective spots or does not work properly. Scratches: We found that the device has more than the acceptable amount of scratches" Which is a flat out lie. My iPad was in mint condition and has been in a case and screen protector since day 1. Their adjusted offer was "$13". Who would accept that? Now I have to wait for them to ship it back to me, which will probably take another 2 weeks, so I've lost a month's worth of time that I could've just sold it on eBay instead. Not to mention I've read numerous other reviews where customers stated that Gazelle sent them back a damaged device and scratched it up on purpose. I don't even know what my recourse would be in that situation, I did take detailed photos before sending it off. Long story short, don't waste your time or risk your devices with this fradulent company."
"Scam: Offered a high price on a used iPad then reduced the price by 95% claiming the iPad was scratched. It was perfect and had been in a cover from the day it was bought. This site is chaos scam "
