"They sent the WRONG PRODUCT at the end of December. It was a Christmas gift and very sad to the giftee which is still waiting for the correct product over 45 days later!!"
"I have been buying stuff from Gear and Training for the past several years and have always found them to provide some of the best customer service in the cycling industry. Customer Service and the Cycling Industry tend to not go hand in hand. If something is not available, they always provide me with an explanation as to what the situation with the manufacturer is and realistic expected time of arrival.
I recently was interested in a new powertap wheel set and spoke to them about options and such. Powertap has had a hard time keeping up with demand lately and so it was nice knowing what to expect. G&T kept me abreast periodically and I ended up not only with a nice set of HED Ardennes with PT hub but G&T took the liberty to help me exchange an old HED Ardennes wheel that had cracked after hitting a pothole, with a new replacement from HED.
It just reminded me of why it has been nice to deal with G&T over the years vs some of the horrible experiences i had with other main-cycling websites.
Thanks G&T!

"Overall, I had a positive experience with Gear and Training. I was able to get good deal on the jacket I ordered. I was able to get a timely responses to my questions on when the jacket would ship. "
"Horrible! Never have delt with such horrible customer service. Ordered a running pack for a trail run. After a few weeks, tried to follow up but Emails and phone messages are not answered. Different story each time that I got someone on the phone. 8 weeks later... cancelled the order because the could not fill it. Steer clear!"
"BEWARE!!!!
I ordered an Under Armour shirt from them because they seemed to have the lowest price at the time, but what I received was different from what was pictured and described on their website. I emailed them and got a fairly quick reply. They said it was last year's model. No where did it mention that on the site when I purchased it. Also, my item did not come with any tags or anything. It was just a used shirt stuffed into a bubble envelope. How do I know it was used? Well there were numerous hairs on the inside of the shirt. Nobody in this house has that kind of hair. I sent them 3 emails and only got a reply for the first one. They'll reply if they want to. That's just horrible customer service. If I returned it, they would just resell it to another customer claiming it to be new, I bet. This is false advertising. I also got some fraudulent charges on my credit card recently. I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to this company."
"My 6 month nightmare with Gear and Training all atarted when I ordered a Bike wheel box. I Chose Gear and Traninig because they used USPS and living in Hawaii at the time that cut $40 off of the total cost. I was planning my move to the main land and ordered this box two months prior to my move date. Two weeks after I ordered it I called the Gear and Training to check up on the status of the box. They said they'll call me back. Two days later, since they failed to call me back, I had to call them again. They admitted to never processing the order and ensured me that they would send it off right a way.
Two more weeks go by where I had to call again to check up on the bike box. I went through the same headacke, I call, they say the'll call back, two days later I have to call them back. This time I informed them that I'm moving in three weeks and again they ensured me that it will be there in time. Two days prior to my move it never showed up and I cancelled the order.
A week later I recieved a call from FED EX saying they stoped by my house to deeliver my bike box but the house was vacent. I called Gear and Training since I haven't recived a refund and they still sent the order. They tried to sell me the box after I bought one from a reliable company. I explained them as nicely as I could that I just want my money back and gave them my new address for a refund check. The fowllowing week the box showed up at my new house. WTF!!! I had to fight with this company and their BS excuses. I finally got the owners personal cell phone number and had to harass him.
Finally I got smart and called my credit card company and contested the charge. Gear and training was more willing to work with me after that, however, shipping it back was a headacke due to Fed Ex declining Gear and Trainings shipping account with them and constant insufficient shipping funds with USPS. 6 months after I ordered the box it made it back to Gear and Training. This is a very poorly run company and I'm suprised their still in business.

"Ordered an Arc'teryx RHO AR Boot Cut Bottoms for men and used a 25% off coupon. E-mailed them for an order status but got no response, so I called them and was told that the item was out of stock so I had to cancel. Never received an e-mail on this before, and the lady on the phone was very quick to cancel. I still see the item as being in stock on their website. Stay away from this vendor. My experience is in line with other reviews."
"I bought a maxpedition Urban wallet. I realise it takes time for it to arrive, travelling across, so, I'm not really complaining about the delivery time (I haven't received the item yet). I'm dissatisfied with the Customer Service support, though. I've already written two e-mails to ask my questions and I received no answer, apart from an automated reply that they'd consider my inquiry or that I should CALL them. I won't call them, because the call would cost me the price of my item or even more (I live in another country) and since they've provided an e-mail, they could make the effort of checking it. I can't say what the overal result of this will be, but so far I'm dissatisfied with having been charged money, not having my item and the total lack of contact with anyone. "
"Please do not use the company. I had to contact them three weeks after the order to find out where the order was. I ordered two of the same item, two different sizes. The first item was discontinued and never shipped, but it took 4 weeks for them to credit my account which they did after I made a phone call requesting they do it. The second item I had to return. It took over 4 weeks again for them to credit my card after they received the item shipped back to them. Very dissatisfied with their ability to handle a simple transaction. Purchase your products from another company!!!!! Do not use this company!!!!"
"I ordered a pair of SIDI 09 Giau Mega Mountain Bike Shoes from Gear and Training, it took 3 weeks to receive the shoes, so initially I would give them a below average rating. The shoes I received were defective, I called Gear and Training and informed them, they told me they did not have any replacement shoes but I could upgrade to a better show and pay the difference which would be an additional $100. 8 months later they finally had the new shoes, I called every month asking about the shoes and they had tons of excuses but no good answers, when the new shoes arrived they asked if I still wanted them, I said yes and they said the price is $269, I then told them about the arrangement that was promised me when I received the defective shoes in July09 and I only had to pay the $100, the gal then said "you expect me to take your shoes back that are 6 months old", This company has no morals or honesty. I will never do business with this crooked organization again, JK"
"I placed on order on 6/27 for a wetsuit. Company's website states unexpected delays they would contact you. I rec’d email that my order was confirmed w/shipping to take up to 10 days. I left several voicemail & emails. 3 days later I tried again - phone calls and email. Several days later I spoke to a real body who apologized and said they would call me back. 4 hours later I had to call them. Their shipment just arrived (to their warehouse - so how could it be in stock) and thought my order was in that delivery, which it was not. He would call me back with a time frame or options. I was offered another orca model (one lower in quality) at the same price. I asked about one quality better (and I was willing to pay the price). He said we would have Sonia check it out and call me back. The next day was told that someone would call me w/in the hour. Surprise - no phone call. I'm glad Gear & Training has enough business that it is OK that their customer service is nonexistent. It took me several emails and phone calls to get the order cancelled. Customer service is one of the worse I have dealt with."
