"I was blown away by their package deals and the fact that they had a 'brand new in package with US warranty' sold me. I should have listened to my instincts that their deals were too good to be true. Because I had to call in and I couldn't place the order online, I later found out that the D70 that I was purchasing with two lenses did NOT include a battery which they neglected to mention and the special package including their tripod (which they write FULL WORKING TRIPOD) is merely a table top tripod. Then they conned me into buying the battery which of course I needed and charged me like 200 dollars for it with the charger. Despite the fact that I am keeping this camera after all the trouble I've been through looking for deals online, I will never deal with this company again. They have terrible Customer service and I kept getting transferred to someone else while i was just trying to confirm my order.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. You'll have better luck on Ebay.

"I rarely write reviews but I felt it was necessary to warn people about this company. Take heed of the old adage "if it seems too good to be true it probably is." They take your order than try desperately to upgrade you. After a few minutes of this I got cold feet and canceled my order. Companies like this are what make a bad name for internet sales. Stay away!"

"I also ordered a camera from this site a few days ago. I was told the camera was on backorder before placing my order but decided to go ahead and placed the order on line. I did rec an email letting me know the camera was on back order and my current order was cancelled and my cc not charged, which as of today (4/26)it has not been charged. I called back today and was told the camera (Canon Rebel digital XT the body only) is due in the middle of May and since I did place an order already, I would be notified by email when the camera came in to see if I still wanted it. I did not have any problems when I did say all I was needing was the body only....there were attempts to get me to buy more, which is normal when in sales...I have been in sales myself and earned commission.

I will wait on the email in May and hope to be able to order this camera.....Overall it has been pleasant dealing with this company and hope for a smooth final transaction in May.

"First I called this company to talk to a customer service rep. The phone rang for awhile and finally a gentleman picked up. I asked him what the turn around time was for a camera purchase. The guy said 24 hours. OK, so I placed an order over the web. I then received an email asking to call and confirm the order. OK, I call it rings a dozen times then the same guy answers the phone.

He then tries to tell me I need filters, memory, batteries, etc. OK, I researched their website and knew that this is how they operated bait-n-switch. I didn’t want anything else but what I ordered online. At one point he told me it would take 2 weeks to get it shipped. What happened to 24 hours! The conversation went downhill from there and he ended up hanging up on me.

I sent an email to them requesting they cancel my order. I researched them some more and found this site. All I have to say is thank you to all the people who have posted their feedback on this site. You saved me a bunch of time and agony.

These guys must also be affiliated with expresscameras.com same type of scam going on there.

"I also tried to purchase a camcorder from this bunch and got the same runaround as most of the comments posted before me. I played around a little and there are at least 6 more just like them. Easy to find, just look for prices too good to be true. However, I am the type that will take all the time and effort to see that they are put out of business. I completed the complaint form and am calling twice a week until they do something.

"Shockingly bad. Placed an order for a Canon GL2 Camcorder with "Ryan" as part of what appeared to be a remarkably affordable "Genius Package 1"; was subsequently pressured to buy high-priced accessories. Didn't fall for it. The rep was clearly peeved. Said my order would arrive in 7 days. I called back 9 days later. Order was supposedly "red-flagged"-- whatever that means! Wanted to take my credit card information all over again. No way, Jose."

"UPDATE: The company tried to get me to rescind my bad rating, my credit card has had "Suspicous" activity on it (Credit checks to see how much room I have on the card). You are playing russian roulette if you use these losers.

FRAUD ALERT: Any company in NY except Adorama and B&H Photo should be looked at very carefully!

If any company requires you to call back to "Confirm" your order cancel it immediately, if they call you just to verify thats more acceptable, if they try and upsell anything turn them down, cancel and report them.

I ordered a Nikon D100 Camera from these crooks.

Then I received an e-mail from the company to call back and confirm my order. I thought this was so odd that I searched the web and found this site.

I then called back, they didn’t high pressure me, but they did say that they would have to have the camera drop shipped from the factory, they confirmed the price, then hung up after telling me to watch for a "Shipping Notice" in my e-mail.

The very next day I received the following.

"Thank you for the order you placed with us.

Unfortunately, we have become oversold on the item(s) you ordered with us, and the order is now backordered. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience we may have caused you, and your order will be canceled. Please note that we have not charged your credit card.

Once again, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to call us at ***-***-****

Thank You,

Shipping Department"

Now that’s a first, a company that cancels orders when they are "Out of stock". If you read the other posts you will see the same kind of thing.

Bottom line is that it they cannot sell you on a bunch of other items marked up 400% to 1000% then they wont ever ship your order.

To date I haven’t seen anyone that has received their basic order for the quoted price, these companies (Dozens in New York) have been running this game a long time, and the New York government should be ashamed of itself, but hey maybe they are getting kick backs.

I have talked to the NY Attorney General etc. who said they are closing in on these guys (finally) and will be shutting them down much quicker in the future.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY OR ANY OTHER THAT HAS 1/2 THE RETAIL PRICE WITHOUT REALLY CHECKING THEM OUT.

"I ordered a Canon digital rebel camera in November but told it would be in after the holidays, called back in January and was told it would'nt be in for 2 more months. I canceled my order, and order from Megastore,and recevied my camera in 3 days. "WARNING" do not order from Genius camera, there just a scam. I sent a letter to NY Att. gen. about them."

"CANON 20D (Package 1 kit), I almost fell into their scam as well but I am smart, I called to pretend that I was buying something so this guy would come on the phone (same guy all the time, they make you wait a couple minutes to make it look like their busy in the back room). So this guy gets on the phone when I originally ordered this camera kit and told me the battery and some items didn't come with this kit. I assumed that he was pulling a bait and switch. I didn't want this thing coming to me missing items so I canceled my order before they could even run my card or ship. They are removing small items from the box and then reselling them, he tried to sell me the battery and charger for like 400 bucks!.. lol!..200 percent markup on a 75 dollar battery. If everyone wants to totally screw this guy and get him back and this company, start ordering small items from him and issuing chargebacks and complaints on his merchant account, they will pull his merchant account and he will be no more. "

"This is a horrible vendor. First, they advertised a low price. I ordered a camera and they sent me an email saying that I had to "confirm" the order. Then they said that certain parts were not part of the order and would be extra. I said "no", I'm not paying more, I'll buy the extra parts elsewhere but I still want the camera. Then they sent me an email cancelling the order because they ran out of stock ... terrible experience!"

"Very Dissatisfied.. this company is a group of crooks , they report on the site or over the phone of prices for certain items but they end up charging you higher,you will never know until you receive your invoice or your bill, and if you try to call you never get but automated answering messages , I did ordered a Nikon coolpix 2200, they promised a charge of $109 and $5.50 shipping but the invoice came with $120.0 for the camera and $9.0 for shipping , some one by the name of Rayan is playing all kind of games when you talk to him ,he is doing his best to charge you more , he also adviced me to get a memory card for the camera which is 128 MB SD type and he charged $49 for this card which I found out later that this card is only cost you $20 when you bye it from Costco, I wouldn't say any thing abut this company but like what the people above said it's a fraud compny ."

"Can't get any costumer service and if I did, the moment I mention about canceling I get put on hold. This company send me the accessory but no camera. They said the camera will be there in 3-4 days but it had been almost three weeks already and I haven't got anything yet. I never got a confirmation of what they send me. Yeah I think these guy are crook. Don't ever buy anything from here. I should of check the reviews to avoid the headache."

"Ordered a digital camera on 11/16, received an email the next day asking me to call to confirm the order, which I did. They did try to push stuff but I told them that I just wanted the camera. I was told that it would ship in 14-21 days. I called on 12/6 since I had not received a shipping date and my credit card had not been charged. I was told that the camera would not be in for a few more weeks. I cancelled the order. This cost me 3 weeks trying to get a certain camera before Christmas."

"I've been taken. This company wants you to call and verify your order and then the sales pitch starts. The Nikon 2200 camera was listed for $99.00. I never received a final price by email and they deducted $138.00 from my card.Took the advice of another and chose the place an order extension. I still had to wait about ten minutes but I finally got an anwser. He said that he would try to cancel but of course it was too late. He said that it had just shipped. I received the shipment in a timely manner but was charged $26.00 for shipping. I have mailed packages larger than a camera and it doesn't cost this much.This company is deceptive in its web page and probably makes its money off of the shipping. Should have checked with this site before ordering from this company."
