"They pretend to be the hotel that you are booking and offer a good price. Once the booking has been made you find that they have almost doubled the advertised price. It took me a long time to be able to contact the company as they did not send a confirmation Email. When I did contact them they advised me that if I cancelled I would not be reimbursed!!! Thinking I might not have hit "submit" I booked with another site and now getaroom.com won't work with me and provide any refund since I went through my cc company for a dispute (that was denied) No calls, no emails, just lame facebook instant messages. "sorry, we cant help" type stuff. Stick to the good sites (expedia.com, booking.com, travelocity.com etc) that you KNOW will provide you with peace of mind when booking hotels."
"I am appalled at this site. I was tasked to make a reservation for my boss and his wife's 40th wedding anniversary at The Menger Hotel. I looked up The Menger and got 855*479-0732 and called to make a reservation. I thought I was speaking to the Menger Hotel. The customer service representative seemed very knowledgeable about the Hotel. She asked for the credit card number to hold the reservation which is customary. I gave the requested information and was given a subsequent email confirmation.
The next day my employer asked me if I had ordered over $800.00 dollars worth of clothes from Nevada. I almost lost my job over this!
The reservation was cancelled and I am still livid!

"Booked a room. They charged me over forty dollars in taxes and fees. Called immediately to cancel, and they refused to cancel. WAIT...this is the best part...they said that they COULD cancel the room, but they couldn't refund any of my money. How is that helpful in any way? Service person implied repeatedly that they couldn't refund fees due to the HOTEL's policy, not their companies and implied repeatedly that those fees were mandated by the government, when they are obviously not.

"Booked a room through them at a rate of $82. Site said free cancellations up to 24 hours before the booked day. Got a confirmation email the next day stating a charge of 118.16. WOW almost 50% in fees. I was very upset. I called them and they offered $10 refund, I declined. Called back and was a little more vocal and then they offered a $30 refund which I agreed to. I called the hotel directly and the original price that was advertised was what I would have got directly from the hotel INCLUDING TAXES. So they advertised the price I could have gotten directly from the hotel then they added almost 50% fee on top of that. Now I was really **** so I called back and demanded a total refund which they were still reluctant to give. However once I pushed the point that the website said free cancelations I was then given a total refund.
These guys are crooks and scammers with outright deceitful tactics. It was not worth the headache. STAY AWAY!!!!!!"

STAY AWAY from this site/phone. They’ll charge you more than if you go directly with the hotel, then when you find out they will not refund your money. They have pages and pages of terms and conditions that you won’t see until they send a confirmation. Only then will you see NO REFUNDS. Unfortunately just another unscrupulous, get rich quick, no ethics, company. When you complain or post a complaint, they just keep resending a message saying they want to help, but never do. No ethics.

"We had roaches in our hotel and getaroom.com said no refund!!! The customer care rep sent me a email claiming they contacted the hotel and the hotel said no refund. I spoke with the hotel and that was a lie. They never contacted them. Therefore, I called them back and had the hotel rep on speaker. Finally I got one night refund promised after check out due to they had no choice but to work it out while I stood patiently waiting."

After I booked the hotel, 15 minutes later I called the customer service and made sure they had 2 beds. They had told me they had confirmed. However when I called the hotel the hotel attendant said there is only 1 bed available. So they gave me an option to call getaroom.com and so I did. I asked to speak to the manager and he had refused to come to the phone. I asked for a refund and they said they will give me 10%. When I called the hotel back they said if getaroom calls us we will give them the refund. This is totally false advertisement. Do not believe this website!!!!!!! This is scam!!!!!"
"I thought that I was booking with the hotel directly. Not until after I got the confirmation did I realize that I had to pay an additional $269.97 for something called “Tax recovery & service fees. Tried to cancel within an hour of making the reservations but was told it was non-refundable. My fault for not insuring that I was booking directly with the hotel. Let the user beware."
"GETAROOM.COM IS A SCAM!!!! RUN FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR WALLET!!!! My family and I booked a trip to NYC at the double tree near Times Square thinking we were booking with the hotel directly we even asked them specifically and was told this was the hotels “reservation line” It was supposed to be raining for the dates we were scheduled to stay so we called the hotel directly to see if we were able to reschedule our dates to the following day we were told we did not have a reservation. After double checking the email we realized we had booked through getaroom.com which I’ve never heard of . We then called their “customer service line” only to be on hold for over an hour and being hung up on twice. We lost $450.00 RUN FAR FAR AWAY!!!"

"In thinking I was booking a room through the hotel site directly, I was somehow redirected to this SCAM of a company!! Upon completing booking of the room I noted the stated price of $104 went to $148 due to bogus tax recovery charges and service fees!! I directly phoned the horrible customer service and was informed my card was already charged and absolutely no refunds!! This is the biggest unethical scam of a site!! Please take my advice and DO NOT use this site to book a hotel!!!"
