"Customer service/Billing is extremely unhelpful and inflexible. I was out of town for 2 weeks during which time my monthly subscription renewed. Their ONLY method of cancellation is via online. I got home ONE day after my subscription renewed and I canceled the account. I sent customer service an email explaining the situation and asking if they could terminate my access immediately and refund the amount. Was met with a cold response simply telling me more or less that I'm SOL and I should have read the TOS. ONE DAY! That's all it was, and they were absolutely unwilling to flex on that. Not even a prorated amount. I suggest looking for another provider with customer service that actually has a soul."
"I have been with this NEWS PROVIDER for over 3 years now. they started out with a retention number on par with other providers but now they have the longest retention 200 days! completion rate is really good 99%
I've been on and off trying out other news provider and eventually came back to giganews because they offer more options and service.
worth every penny. dont use the one provided by your isp because they dont even come close."
"I have mixed feelings thus far with Giganews. Went from OK to bad. After trying their service for a month, I concluded that they're on par with their competitors. I had no reason to switch, until now. A coming long vacation necessitated cancellation of my account and I fired off a nicely worded email explaining my situation. My original intent was to restart the news server service at some point after my vacation. Instead, their customer service pushed me to suspend my service instead of cancelling as I asked. Of course, this shifted me from neutral to annoyed. So I emailed asking again for cancellation and a partial refund as I don't really like companies that tries to corner their customers and take away options. AGAIN, I met with resistence. They refused to refund me a penny despite my sincere attempts to reason with them what is fair for the consumer. I tried to explain with business terms that they're going to make a lot more money off of me doing the right thing. To make a long story short, things finally got moving when I demanded supervisor attention and told them I had just added their company here @ resellerratings.com. Naturally, they realized their mistake and offered to immediately cancel my account and give me a partial refund, albeit at a much lesser amount. Obviously, I'm still not satisfied. I will update again at the conclusion of this tedious affair.
Well, that my experience with Giganews for your benefit. Save yourself the hassle and look at other news server providers. There are tons out there and some quite cheaper with more customer friendly attitudes. Shop smart! "
