The order was placed on Nov 27, and the confirmation said I could expect a time frame of 2-14 days for shipment. So far I have received no update information about the order, and this is 10 working days after placing the order. It could be that I will have to wait the entire 14 days...but then again there might be a problem.

"Our local (the dealership is about 1 hour away) Subaru dealer doesn't seem to be able to get what I'd think are common parts.
My wife ordered parts with the "local" folks for a small job, and when she got to the dealership at the appointed time to have the work done, they didn't have all the parts necessary to do the job. The cost of the part they did have in stock just about doubled from what the service advisor quoted her when she first discussed having this work done. She was "miffed" to understate it, so she left without rescheduling the appointment.
Using the information about the car model and the last 8 characters of the VIN, we were able to order parts from Gillman Subaru that ended up being CHEAPER than the prices they quoted us locally, and that is after Gillman charged to ship them to us. The parts cost plus shipping was about HALF what they were threating to charge locally. I think it took Gillman a day, or two at the most, to get the parts to us after we ordered them online. Then, it took us about 15 minutes to stick them on the car. The Outback is running better now!
We aren't that far from Gillman, and my wife is talking about running over there when the time comes to replace her Outback. I recently went outside and she was taking the frame off the license plate on her car...you know the one that says the dealer's name. She would probably put a Gillman license plate frame on her car at this point.
Oh, and by the way, since my wife has sworn she will never darken the door of the local dealer, we've ended up ordering from Gillman another time by now, and the parts came quickly at great prices the second time too.
A LOT of auto dealerships of various brands don't seem to "get" that the salesfolk sell the first car, but the parts and repair people sell the second one.
Good job, Gillman Subaru! Please keep it up for those of us in the hinterlands who need Subaru parts."
