"Ordered on 9/23, didn't get any updates for about a month. When I called to check on order around end of October, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional $90 to cover the shipping to my address despite the website clearly showing free shipping for the ottoman that I had ordered all the way through payment and online checkout, or I could take a refund. At this point Goedekers had my money for a month and had not done a damn thing because they could not honor "free shipping" and I had to call to figure this out despite the company having and email address and a phone number to contact me and even a mailing address to send a letter the snail mail way. Obviously, if I wanted my money I just would not have ordered my ottoman. I WANTED THE OTTOMAN, THAT IS WHY I HUNTED IT DOWN AND ORDERED IT GOEDEKERS! Despite agreeing to the shipping cost shakedown, I would not receive my order until after December 1 even though Goedekers had been paid in full for the item upon order and then paid again for this shipping on 11/01. At least the ottoman showed up in an acceptable condition. The experience with the carrier wasn't worth the $90. The ottoman showed up with a carrier that delivers all of my other "free shipping" crap.
My advise to Goedekers is to get rid of the website if you cannot honor the prices and terms that are shown. At the very least, initiate communication with the buyer when things get complicated and if someone pays elects to pay for the shipping shakedown after buying an item shown with free shipping, you should make sure that the shipping is quicker than one month. My time line is not exaggerated as a simple search of payment and shipping confirmation emails provides the dates that I listed above. "
