GoingDecor.com Charges for Returns

"Do not use GoingDecor for your purchases. They charge a 15% restocking fee for returns plus you have to pay for return shipping. My $71 purchase ended up costing $30 to return. Wayfair and other retailers allow free returns with no restocking fees. "

Dismal, atrocious, terrible customer service

"Bought an expensive fan from Going Lighting. Worst decision ever. Fan arrived promptly, and worked for one hour. I do not believe that the fan did not work as their fault. The electrician installer said, it was their "GUESS" that the receiver was bad. I contacted GoingDecor to have the fan exchanged. Their response essentially was "...we'll send you and new receiver and you will have to pay to have the receiver installed, then it should work." I paid to have the receiver installed. It did not work. So, on top of the price I paid to buy the high end fan, I'm out the extra money I had to pay for the repair, not to mention inconvenience. After I contacted the manufacturer and explained what had happened, GoingDecor finally sent me a replacement fan. They also delayed refunding money they owed to me for an extended period of time, lying to me that the refund had already been made when I called to ask about it. I RARELY SUGGEST THAT ANYONE NOT DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY. I NOW WHOLEHEARTEDLY SUGGEST THAT YOU AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH GoingLighting / GoingDecor, or any of their related companies. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. YOU MAY GET AN ATTRACTIVE PRICE, BUT YOU MAY END UP PAYING A LOT MORE BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS AFTER THEY GET YOUR MONEY. "

Terrible customer service

"DO NOT BUY FROM GOINGDECOR!

I don't even knew where to begin with this review, until I quickly remembered the facts that happened in the one-time I decided to purchase from this store.
My wife was pregnant (the baby is born now) and was putting up some wallpaper. We needed more and decided to order from GoingDecor as they were slightly cheaper when ordering a double roll, instead of single ones.
When the item arrived, we took it out of the box, and unwrapped, we realized the colors were lighter than what we had so far, which wouldn't match. Now, mind you the double roll was on its original package and we didn't even open the plastic it was wrapped into.
I then decided to contact GoingDecor for a return, as unfortunately it wouldn't match what we had so far (more than half of the wall already). The order was $60.14 + $7.95 shipping, with a total of $68.09
To my (our) surprise, they said they would have to charge a 15% restock fee which would be 9$ (out of the $60) and I asked them to reconsider it twice, to what they said it's on their policy and etc...
On top of it, I had to pay for shipping costs all by myself, and that MUST be either UPS or Fedex, which ended up costing me additional $12.96 from UPS on their cheapest rate.
End of story, their customer support was not only unreasonable and charged me 15% restock fee + shipping costs, but also got free money by not accommodating a first-time experience purchasing on their store.
Oh, and last but not least, their "customer support" did tell me I could get the restock fee waived if I decided to purchase something from them, instead of returning, for the same price or higher, in some kind of blackmail...

I can EASILY say this is the only and LAST TIME I buy from them and STRONGLY/HIGHLY advise you don't make the same mistake as I did.

Worst Customer Service, go to Wayfair instead

"We bought an ET2 bathroom fixture from these people and when it arrived it was nothing like what they pictured on their website and it didn't provide enough light to see anything at all. When we tried to return it they said we couldn't since we had already installed it. We called ET2 and they wouldn't help us either. The customer service person, Elana was very rude and she refused to listen to any of our complaints, insisting that it was our fault for not reading the return policy. How can we know if the item is to our liking if we don't install it? We have been customers of Wayfair for many years and they have never given us a hassle about returning an item. Next time we will pay the few extra dollars and go to Wayfair instead and I suggest all of you out thwre do the same.k "

THIEVES!

"I wanted to return a order I made for several rolls of expensive grass cloth wallpaper and stick on marble finish paper. These items all came to me in ONE shipment and when I asked to process a return they told me I would have to pay to ship the items back and it would be a "10% or 15% restocking fee" but the kicker is that they sent me two emails with two separate mailing addresses which I didnt catch until after I had shipped the items. It would make sense to send both items back together to ONE address since they came to me ONE Shipment. Now after much back and forth (with large delays in between I might add), I am being told that they can only refund me 50% for the one portion of the order and seem to be planning on not reimbursing me at all for the several hundred dollars in grass cloth wallpaper since they "do not have access to the item in the incorrect warehouse". I mean, WTF, arent both warehouses your property? Otherwise why am I being told to send it there. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN AFTER BEING DEFRAUDED $600 - ABSOLUTELY DISMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUB-PAR POLICIES AS A BUSINESS!!!!!"

Don't have the items they charge you for.

"The website said they had 5 of a certain item. I ordered them. They charged my card. 6 days passed and nothing. My order was still in process. Someone got back to me saying that they only have 3 of the item in stock and asked how I would want to proceed. So basically had I not reached out asking where's my order, this probably would have never been shipped. Basic business 101: make sure you have the item in stock before you charge a customer and if you don't have the item in stock, reach out to them instead of trying to cheat em."

Beautiful Light Excellent Service

"I received my light a little late, but after questioning I got prompt replies from customer service.
I liked the light very much: Beso Luma Slim LED.
After discovering a better price for the same item I contacted customer service and without hesitation they honored their promise of matching the price plus 10%. The 10% accounts for 10% of the difference and not 10% of the purchase price as I found out.
A satisfying experience with this company for sure.

Ordered wallpaper

"I ordered 3 samples and was able to use a coupon code for them. They all were delivered. I made my decision. Then went back and ordered the roll I chose. It delivered. The wallpaper came out great. I’ve had no issues. That was my experience. I am sure I will order wallpaper from them again. "

charged credit card, said my item in stock - then sent an email minutes later...

"saying they don't have the item and they WILL NOT charge my card. When I called because the confusion because THEY DID CHARGE MY CARD and I was told I HAD THE ITEM, I guess they never would have told me. The charge is still on my card. The representative was horrible, defensive and made me sound like the bad guy. When I told the representative that charging a card without authorization could violate federal law, the representative was horribly defensive and accusatory and rude. What a rotten company. PEOPLE, save yourself, don't buy from here - there are plenty of third party companies to buy from. PLUS THEY NEVER WOULD HAVE HONORED (AS THEY TOLD ME -- IT WAS A BAIT AND SWITCH) THE PRICE COMPARISON GUARANTEE. My card still has the charge. I will call the bank. Sad sad sad, holiday season and this kind of behavior."

"I will never use this company, I purchased a bedding for$200 and it came without a fitted sheet. I did not check at first when it came in the box. when I decided to use it I realized that the fitted sheet was missing, I called the company and they told me there is nothing they can do. All they did is told me to go and by a totally different sheet and gave me $15 credit... i have never seen anything like it. Very rude and unprofessional. "

Bad Return Policy

"I would suggest you make sure you know you are going to keep everything you order from this company PRIOR to placing your order.
This was my experience with my first and last purchase from GoingDecor/GoingKnobs:

•Placed order for two different types of cupboard handles with GoingDecor, 18 pieces of one type and 3 pieces of another
•Order arrives from two different stores and invoiced from GoingKnobs
•Total order $139.65
•Called GoingDecor to try to exchange the 18 handles because I needed a longer length
•I was told yes, she would make the exchange and would not charge me the 15% restocking fee
•My next question was about the price matching policy, I found the $6.69 per handle at Menards for $4.99
•Her answer was "we don't price match with Menards"
•I decided to return the entire order
•I was told to wait for email instructions on making a return
•I was also told I would receive email instructions from two different companies
•The instructions arrived a week apart
•The instructions state there will be a 15% restocking fee ($20.95 on a $139.65 order)
•The instructions state I could only send back the product via FedEx or UPS (1st return $14.31 FedEx, 2nd return $8.95 FedEx)
•The instructions state once the return has been sent back by one of two ways (FedEx/UPS), I need to send the tracking number back to GoingDecor
•My order cost was $139.65
•My return cost me $23.26
•My 15% restocking fee cost me $20.95
•My total out of pocket for cupboard door handles that I returned is $44.21
•Bottom line, it's not worth ordering anything from this company because in the event you need to make a return the cost is ridiculous and the hoops you have to jump through are not worth it.

"I ORDERED A LAMP POST LIGHT. IN THE DESRIPTION OF THIS LIGHT IT WAS NEVER REVEALED THAT IT WAS MADE OF CHEAP PLASTIC. IT HARDLY LOOKS LIKE THE PICTURE ON THE THE GOINGLIGHTING WEBSITE. I REQUESTED A RETURN AUTHORIZATION VIA PHONE. I RECEIVED NO REPLY. I REQUESTED A RETURN AUTHORIZATION VIA EMAIL. I RECEIVED NO REPLY. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

IF THEY WERE THE ONLY COMPANY SELLING WATER DURING A SEVERE DROUGHT I WOULD GO THIRSTY RATHER THAN USING THIS COMPANY.
