"I haven’t been to Goodys in Many Years because I’m not able to shop much and I live in a low Income but I’m Pleased "
"I was in the store for 2 hours looking for a dress and trying on clothes. I was greeted when I walked in and the rest of my visit, all the staff sat behind the counter talking.
I did need some assistance but nobody ever came around to offer in the TWO FULL HOURS.
At checkout I asked them to look at my DL photo and let me enter my SS number into the checkout pad because I don’t carry cards with me. This seemed to aggravate Red (she refused to tell me her name) and assistant manager Stephanie, and then I was told my card had no available credit. This was told to me with a raised eyebrow and she looked rather pleased. I said that I knew it wasn’t maxed out and could they call customer service. Stephanie said no. I asked for the number and was given a non working number. Asked again and Stephanie pulled out her phone to look one up. She didn’t do this with a smile. She didn’t even try to mask that she was annoyed.
I called and was told STEPHANIE NEEDED TO CALL because my payment was due yesterday and that’s why the card was locked. Stephanie was supposed to call on a secure line and then they would process my payment and unlock the card.
I went back in and told Stephanie and Red what customer service said. She said that she’s been there 4.5 years and never heard of anything like that.
I repeatedly asked her to call and she said they won’t give her any information. I asked her could she at least try to help me because they had ignored me in the store for 2 hours and sat behind the counter and not been in any way helpful to me today. Red said “I spoke to you when you came in.” I said that’s not sufficient.
I told her I needed her to help me because I don’t work there or know what the process is. She said she could not call.
So I called again and asked the customer service rep to tell her what needed to happen. I told him that she refused to make the call and she started arguing with me about it WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE. She then got on the phone and told the rep that she offered to take my payment at the register. False. “I said that is absolutely not true.” And she argued some more and tried telling me that she did offer. She gave the phone back to me and the rep asked me if she had offered to take my payment. I told him she didn’t and that’s why I had called a second time.
At this point I was done trying.
I told her that I’m the customer, it’s my birthday, and I don’t want her to argue with me anymore. She said “I’m not arguing.” I told her that right there is the very definition of arguing.
I said you both have been rude and not at all helpful. They both argued with me saying that they had not been rude and had, in fact, helped me. Again I said stop arguing with me and Stephanie said she wasn’t arguing. I didn’t say anything else because it was clearly futile to call her out on her behavior because she just lied as if I wasn’t standing there to see what REALLY happened.
I ran my debit card and got ready to leave.
I said you guys are just being **** to me even though it’s my birthday.
Stephanie immediately said “I’m gonna have to ask you to leave!” I said I am leaving and told them thanks for ruining my afternoon looking for a dress to wear to my birthday dinner and that I was going to make a complaint to the store manager and I needed Red’s name. When I tried to look around Stephanie to see her name tag, she covered it up with her sweater and shook her head. I asked her if she was going to tell me her name and she said no.
They both sarcastically said go ahead and call the manager, as if it was the funniest thing they’d ever heard.
Stephanie said YOU NEED TO GO! To my back as I was walking out.
I’ve never been kicked out of a store nor had store clerks actually make me cry. Nobody said I’m sorry even though I initially told them I was quite upset that nobody had waited on me in 2 hours, even though they weren’t busy. They were just talking. I walked past them at least 10 times.
I called customer service a third time and made a formal complaint. The rep helped me calm down and took all my info for the complaint.
I’m waiting for an apology from Stephanie and Red for what is undoubtedly the worst shopping experience in my entire life.
PS, the receipt says Red’s name is Tracie. "
"I was the only customer in the store and wait a little bit before anyone waited on me to check out."
"Everyone was friendly and helpful."
"Fantastic I will be back tomorrow for sure"
"Store was very clean an organized. Friendly employees"
"The Cullman, Al store employees were appropriately professional but I feel like the problem I experienced was created at a higher level. Practices like that really undermine any efforts of hardworking employees being able to maintain the trust of the public, not to mention the fact that trying to mark prices up and then say you're having a sale is just sorry."
"Great customer service along with great sales !!"
"The staff is always friendly and make you feel welcome. I usually can find something I really like. They often times have great deals to help make it more affordable. I do wish they would bring back the coupon books though!"
"I've honestly always had a great experience with Goody's/Stage"
