"Ordered glasses from them, as I have done before, but this time the vision was terrible. Had my eye doctor look at them, found out the lenses were reversed. Greateyeglasses tried to make another pair, still not the correct prescription according to the local eye doctor. Finally called and told them to send my money back, which they did. Julie, who answers the phone, is terrific, the lab screws up, then leaves it to Julie to make the customer happy. Didn't work this time. Figured that a real doctor knows a bit more about lenses that some lab tech.
A shame, because the service is great. From now on I'll buy locally. "
"I bought glasses from Greateyeglasses.com a few years ago and when I finally sat on them for the last time, needed to buy a new pair.
It's been a few years since my last order and the quality was even better then the first time I ordered.
I don't have a rough prescription, but they are $80 cheaper then my local guy. "
"In 2012 I ordered a pair of progressive lens glasses. They were subsequently "lost" in the mail, and I never received them. I had my credit card company reimburse the cost. I couldn't wait another 4 weeks for glasses, so I had to have them made locally at a great expense.
So 2 years later, I needed a new prescription, and I figured I would give GreatEyeglasses another chance. The first pair I received had one sun-darkening (transition) lens, and the other side didn't! I called them, and they did make a replacement pair, but when I received them, the progressive part (the"add") was located in the bottom 3/16" of the lens, and therefore I had no close up reading vision. So I called them again, and this time they said that they had made the lenses correctly and I was wrong! Then they said that they didn't want to remake them anymore, and to send them both back and I will be refunded after they receive them. So in other words, I have never received a satisfactory pair of glasses or a good customer relationship with GreatEyeglasses."
"I ordered four pairs of glasses in two orders (one was a pair of safety goggles). I received them in 8 days. I was pleased with all of them. They even came with good solid cases - although the one for the safety goggles was too small. The safety goggles had a small defect on both lenses, but it was up in the corner where it didn't matter. Optically they looked great, except that one of the other pairs of glasses had a slightly blurry spot in the center of the lens. I emailed them and they immediately replied and told me they would send out another pair. Once I receive it I can send back the original and they will reimburse me for the shipping. So far, I'm very pleased with their product and their prompt service."
"My husband and I just received six pairs of glasses. His was a pair of bifocals and a pair of distance prescription sunglasses. Mine were two pairs of prescription sunglasses, a pair of computer glasses and a reading pair. I was absolutely thrilled with all of them, and so was my husband. And the total price for all six pairs, including some upgraded lenses as well as an additional cost because my prescription has a high astigmatism, was less than $250. We ordered glasses through Zenni Optical a bit more than a year ago, and they felt very cheap. So this year I thought I would give Eyebuydirect a try, but after getting some questions answered, I realized that I was speaking to a Chinese person. So I went with a north American place. I had an inquiry, and the response was nearly immediate. (and in reading this I know I sound just like someone the company placed to write reviews, but I really and a normal customer, you can check it out!)Now, I do have to say that figuring out which glasses fit you, and dealing with the prescription really is a bit of a daunting job, perhaps it was good we did the Zenni order first, it taught us how to do proper measuring etc. :-)"
"Over the past couple of years, I have ordered and received a few pairs of glasses from Greateyeglasses.com and have been satisfied. Recently (July 12) though, I bought two pairs that did not meet the mark regarding quality. The first pair was supposed to be a sun-darkening, and one lens was. I was extremely embarrassed as my colleagues brought to my attention that only the left lens was darkening in the bright sunlight (I am blind in the right eye and didn’t notice the lack of sun darkening in the right lens). The second pair, after a couple of months, broke on the frame at the middle of the side of the front of the frame, in a place where there seems there wouldn’t be much stress (no, I didnt sit on them). I was refunded the price of the glasses after two attempts to get satisfaction with the company. I would think that the company would put more effort into the quality control of the glasses prior to sending out to the customer. I do not intend to purchase glasses from Great Eyeglasses.com in the future. I have read several very satisfied reviews by customers here and don’t understand how this could happen. To all who are considering Great Eyeglasses.com, good luck! Maybe they have learned their lesson with my experience."
