"I found greenteky when I did a Google search for the item I wanted to buy after Amazon stopped selling new ones: a Panasonic 42" TV. The price was very low and the merchant was very new so I looked for reviews.
Several positive reviews were posted on Merchant Circle, but I have since discovered that MC gives listed businesses the authority to simply remove reviews they don't like (thus my negative reviews never appeared there). Initially my emails to greenteky, looking for reassurance that my $500 was not down the drain, were answered fairly promptly, but eventually they ceased to respond . . . whether I emailed directly or used their Contact Us form. When I started digging further, I discovered that the address given on MC was an empty warehouse, the phone number was a random fax number with an area code that didn't match the location, and the address of the domain owner is an Amazon loading dock in Seattle. In addition, the webserver is hosted in Canada.
Basically, there's no recourse for dissatisfied customers. Just file a report with IC3 (the FBI), the FTC, and your state Attorney General's office, and hope that other people will do their homework before paying for nothing."
