"Bought 4 tickets for Hockey Hall of Fame Toronto. My total was $62.92 however my credit card was billed $83.58. I contacted Groupon only to be told the amount charged is in US funds. Who would think a Canadian venue would be charged in US Funds. Refused refund, I was told it was a final sale."

"Honestly, the most horrible experience ever. I bought two paragliding vouchers for my 21st birthday. I bought them on a Thursday for that Saturday. I needed to call the merchant to confirm my appointment, which I tried to do on Friday. However, the information given on the voucher was wrong. After multiple online chats, two phone calls to customer service and speaking with a manager, I was told that the only solution was to wait 3-5 business days for them to even give me a correct phone number. I finally found the correct information on Google. The merchant, however, was super shady and unprofessional. The paragliding company turned out to be a one man operation who only communicated through text, often used vulgar words during our time, and had us meet on a coastal access point, made us use out own car to drive up into the mountains and into private property, hike into the hills next to it, and take off from there. He also tried to charge us an extra $100, claiming the Groupon didn't charge me correctly. Paragliding was awesome though, the merchant was the problem. In short, Groupon has terrible customer service and no longer checks if the merchants they have in their site are legitimate."
"I have used Groupon for a variety of things over the years. I can say that they continue to meet, and recently exceed expectations on value and service.
Generally, I look to Groupon to extend my budget. After I decide what I want to spend on a gift or service, I check Groupon and get an "upgrade" a the same price. I've found some businesses that I continue to patronize this way. It makes sending gifts easy too. I had one very unfortunate vendor experience recently that spanned a year. They extended great service, looking into the unique issues and correcting it on their end. Thanks Groupon!"
"My husband and I bought a hotel Groupon but were not able to go due to a family emergency (family member dying). I contacted hotel to cancel the trip, it they directed me back to Groupon. The live chat was not available (conveniently) and the only thing we could do was to email. No rely was received. When I finally was able to get hold of their representative via live chat, I was told that it’s too late and I’m not getting any refund or credit towards other purchases. We lost a lot of money and they lost us as customers. Very poorly run business!"
"First of all my problem was resolved by Online Chat. However it took for ever. I have never experienced an Online Chat in any business as slow as Groupons. It would tell you that your Customer Service Rep was typing. She must have been in Shanghai or typing during her coffee break. I honestly felt my issue would not be resolved using this method. However as I said at the beginning it was finally resolved and all I am waiting on is my package to be delivered.

We we’re searching potential properties to stay for the next nights , we were searching late the night of Aug 28th & accidentally bought a room at a resort..for THAT night (the 28th) It was after call centre hours, but we could use the chat feature, the representatives were so easy to chat with& Very understanding of our situation ... we immediately canceled the accidental room at the resort & groupon called the resort on our behalf the following day & that afternoon we had our money back, even through it was outside the cancellation hours . I am still reeling from the incredible customer service we received. We use Groupon on a regular basis .. actually we travel several times annually & refer to our trips as ”groupon inspired holidays” ... this experience solidified our love for the app & the company."

A couple of weeks later I received an automatic email telling me how pleased they were that they were able to solve my issue. I assume they have closed my complaint and I am out money. "I cannot even begin to explain the amount of time lost to this purchase, let alone 200 dollars plus on original purchase and more money to repair the item as it arrived clearly damaged to both driver and myself. What was bought on the pretense of costing 460.00 cost me with repairs 2 times that plus about six hours trying to get it worked out at the call centre. Six hours of my life I will never get back and did you know wherever this "customer support", (which is the last thing it is), is there are no phones for a superior to call out of perhaps that is why I got the runaround for all that time. In summation Groupon is an awful business and if I shop there it is with the knowledge of Buyer Beware."
"Return mess!!! I am paying for their mistake and they don’t care! I did not change my mind or order the wrong items, I am only in this position because I was sent the wrong item. Since this is not my error, it seems the right thing to do is to immediately issue a credit for the wrong item that was shipped, so that I can use the credit reorder. I now have to repackage both items and and then drop them off to be shipped back, leaving me with nothing and waiting 2-3 weeks for a refund. Additionally, the time I have had to spend dealing with a mistake that was made on their end is unacceptable. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!"
