"While I was pretty excited when I first found this site and said to myself "I'm going to be a pretty good customer of theirs." because they sell a ton of stuff I'm interested in --- I'm not so sure how many more orders I'll be placing.

There were several things that I didn't like:

1. I emailed customer service to ask about a product recommendation for a testing setup I was trying to achieve. They didn't respond initially, and I asked them about a week later what the status of my request was. They replied back basically that I should just call their vendor myself. What value do they really bring to the transaction if I'm doing the legwork? HECK, HELP ME SPEND MONEY WITH YOU. If you don't have it or can't get it, just say so instead of just ignoring the request.

2. No real confirmation of my order and definitely no expectation set as to time of delivery.

3. No follow up by about a week later. I send an email. "oh yeah, one of 7 items is out of stock, so we are waiting to get that item in. It will be another week before it ships." No offer (or automatic action) to partial ship due to one item being out of stock.

4. Products received do not match exactly what was ordered. While there is some OEM relationship between ordered vs shipped, it definitely seems like they would just ship me WHATEVER THEY FELT would address the need. While the products received were acceptable replacements, this just reeks of bad business practice. If I order brand X, you gotta ship brand X. This is how it works.

5. Some of the products had hand-written labels on them. While this might have come from the vendor, it just seems shaky especially when the brand is a different one(with a different associated part number) but the hand-written label matches the part number ordered on the website. ("See: we shipped what you ordered!@#")

While in the end I got (more or less) what I ordered, the process was slow, communication was poor, and it was an unprofessional experience.

While I don't think they are a DISHONEST business, they just missed the mark enough for me to go deal with someone else who is better.

"Shipment arrived on the day UPS predicted when I placed the order. The box was repacked in a larger carton with peanuts and although the larger carton had a substantial dent/crush on the top--inside, the factory original box was undamaged, and the soldering iron station was in pristine condition.
