I paid equivalent od $5 for shipping from HK to UK (that's less than any other UK company would want!) and received everything nicely packed within 7 working days. The declared price on the package was $10 and it was declared as gift, so I didn't have to pay VAT and customs. Perfect service, perfect prices, will definitely shop with them again.

"I have orderd from Hvstar once and will be ordering again. They have great prices on brand name lens filters (especially Hoya) and other accessories. I also bought a remote control for my DSLR for $3, which is not brand name, but it works perfectly. Much better than paying $20 for a OEM Nikon one. I also got a spare battery for my Nikon D80 and it seems to be authentic with the hologram sticker and everything, for fraction of the price in a real store.
The store took about 4-5 days to ship my order and I didn't receive it until 2-3 weeks from the order date, but that is mostly because it got held up at Canada customs.
The shipping charges are not bad, but if you are ordering a bunch of small cheap stuff, you might be paying more for shipping than the items themselves, because it is shipped from Hong Kong. But the shipping costs are still better than what most eBay sellers charge you, and if you are ordering just one item, the shipping might even be cheaper than ordering from a Canadian on-line store. Not to mention that there is no Canadian on-line retailer with these kind of prices.

They are a bit slow on dispatch compared to some places (1-2 days), but that's fine once you know, and definately worth the wait for the prices. I have purchased 6 Hoya and B&H filters plus some cleaning gear for my lenses, and everything has been as branded and expected. No knockoffs.
They are also happy to answer questions emailed to them, fairly quickly too."
"HVStar.com has a great selection of filters from many major manufacturers. Their prices were the lowest I could find on the internet. The filters I received were the real thing and not cheap knock-offs. Everything was pristine and in it's original packaging. They even threw in a lens cloth and SD/MMC card reader (USB) for free!

Inexpensive Prices, Great Selection, Quick to get my order in the mail, Reasonable shipping cost.
Con: There aren't really any, unless you're in a hurry.
NOTES: Be aware that even though they ship immediately, your order may take up to 14 calendar days to arrive depending on where you live. I live in the western U.S. and my order took 11 calendar days. Also be aware that if you are in the U.S. someone will have to sign for the package. The USPS will not deliver without signature!

"I ordered a Hoya CP filter, two lens hoods (one that looks like a really good Canon knock-off, as it was advertised, and the other a really innovative generic hood which was exactly what I wanted), and a 58-72mm step-up ring. Could not be more happy with the products. The price was amazing!
I thought the shipping charges were a bit exorbitant considering the weight, until I got my package - it came via registered mail here in the States, which was very cool.
Overall, great seller and great products. It took 10 business days to get it (13 calendar days) from Hong Kong to Oregon. Could have been worse :D"
"Ordered a Hoya 77mm PRO1 DIGITAL Circular Polarizer Filter DMC from them. Price was $70. Even with the $10 s/h (from Hong Kong) the price was less than half the price of usual high-volume online camera stores I deal with (who will go nameless). They accept PayPal so I didn't have to give them my CC number. The filter came 8 days later in a sealed Hoya case. Sent them an email 4 days after ordering and they responded quickly. Would definitely do business with them again. My only concern is that their package-tracker site does not give detailed information-- only that the package entered the USA."
