"Bought a Lite-On 48125S CD writer and it worked for 16 seconds. Called the company, explained what happened, they shipped a new one and gave me a return number. 3 days later, I have a working unit. I had no problems at all with these folks."
"Noticed the Harddrive.com ad in PC Gamer and follow-up by checking their website. Liked the silver and black options so I chose to order several items (Plextor 40/12/40 CD-RW, Pioneer 16/40 CD-DVD, Mitsumi floppy -- all those black -- and Western Digital 120GB drive). I'm going to track things as it happens -- essentially a real time evaluation.
July 29, 2002: Ordered.
Ordered via phone, NOT via the website because one option I wanted wasn't listed on site but was available when speaking with customer service rep.
August 1, 2002: Nothing.
Still no email confirmation, however, I have been checking their site (during the ordering process, they asked me for a password which I could use to check on my order status) to see the status of my order. Each time I've checked, the order indicates "in warehouse" (an issue I've seen here a couple of times. Nervous, I call to check. A polite young lady informed me the harddrive wasn't in stock at the time of my order but she personally went down to the warehouse (she actually left me on an open line for about 5 minutes -- no big deal) and found that the drive had come in that morning and the order should ship today. I pressed her for more detail but she assured me the order "should" ship today. More to come.
August 2: Still Nothing.
Still no confirmation email and my order status shows as "in warehouse" using the online option. I call back and speak with a very pleasant lady named "Michelle." She remembers our conversation from the previous day and tells me, again, the order "should" go out today. She tells me to check the order status online after 5:00pm Central Standard Time. I do and behold, the shipment is out.
The one thing that kinda annoyed me is I felt like I had to beg to ensure the order got out that day. I said something like, "I really need those part as soon as possible" and they helped but why don't they take care of customers and *ensure* orders are getting out promptly. More to come on the actual quality of the order."
"When searching for Black PC components I found HardDrive.com.
They have a great selection of products and a wide variety of Black components.
After checking their rating and reviews I was a bit nervous about ordering from them. I decided to give them a chance.
I placed my order over the phone (something I look for in an online retailer). Spoke with Mario and was assured that my order would be processed and delivered without a problem.
I ordered a Black DVD player and a Volcano 7+ for the cpu. Mario told me that it would take 24-48 hours before they would ship because of the Black DVD component.
A few days pass and I still have not received any sort of email confirmation. I call them up and they stated it was still in the warehouse. I asked WHY? They stated that the item was out of stock and it still needed to be painted. I then asked if they could send me an email when it does ship. They agreed, even though it's not their normal business practice to send out confirmation emails.
I was upset because they never told me when I ordered that the product was out of stock.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I received the package the same day I called. Weird.
Conclusion. The customer service doesn't know what is going on in their own company! They have great products, great website, but they need to bump up their services if they want to stay in the online retail business.
HardDrive.com... take a look at Comp-U-Plus and learn something. Customers want a knowledgeable sales and customer service staff. We want email confirmations! WE want to be able to track our packages.
Don't get me wrong, they have quality products and I would order from them again. Just don't expect that top notch service and features you get from other e-tailers.

"So far so good, I have only ordered once, and it was a tower case, I ordered it on friday night and it came monday afternoon. Everything was OK."
"They don't send conformation E-mail, Hidden costs, No tracking Information for the product I bought, When I called company They Wouldn't Disclose where my shipment was.
