"First off Hardware World's customer service is excellent! Both times I have ordered from them I have had to contact customer service immediately. The first time was because all the brand new shelf brackets that I had just bought had the paint chipped on them which is a problem because I use these to sell wall mounted carpeted cat shelves on ebay. So they sent new ones out that were better packaged, but then explained to me that I shouldn't expect the brackets to be in great condition if I ordered from them again. So with a little touch up paint I fixed the chipped brackets no real big deal. So I figured I would give them another try, since the next cheapest vendor is double the price. I was expecting poor packaging but this time I get a box where the brackets look like they had been tossed into the box and also received half of a wrong order. So again I had to contact customer service. I'm not sure what they do in their shipping department, but their warehouse manager should be fired. To be told as a customer that I should not expect my brand new items to be perfect because they are designed for utility purposes, is like buying a brand new truck for construction and having the fenders and bumpers scuffed up and being told from the seller "well its a utility truck its gonna get scuffed and dinged". If this guy ever came into my pizza shop I would smash his pizza into a ball and tell him well it doesn't matter what it looks like since its all going into the same place anyway. So I am not sure what kind of care they would put into anything else they ship from there, but be warned the warehouse manager doesn't care about the condition of your new item.

In response to the reply from hardware world. The brackets were literally pointed in all directions as if some one tossed them in the box. The brackets can be easily stacked with themselves which would make them package better into a small box. As far as how they receive them from their distributor it comes in boxes of 60 not 100 and there is a piece of paper in between the elbow of each bracket, In those boxes of 60 there is 3 chipped not every single one. I doubt they had to go through thousands of brackets. I also expected to receive chipped brackets, I had to contact them because off the wrong order which I might add was not immediately shipped out, nor is it being overnighted. I sent them pictures so they could see how I had received them, I was not trying to get replacements this time but there wasn't any effort to package them to reduce any possibility of additional damage or to reduce the size of the box shipped. I simply wanted to bring this to their attention so they could raise the bar a little higher. I can not even believe that I have spent this amount of time defending myself on this. I feel attacked by this reply, I have every right to express my experience. This is no longer about the chipped brackets this is about how they were packaged, I wasn't expecting them to be individually wrapped or a divider of some sort between each bracket. They were packaged worse than a box of nails, at least the nails all fit into it's respective box. I know these days the customer is no longer right, but I guess I just expect a little more out of people."
